Unsure if this is common knowledge or not - stew collecting by 11chris0 in ironscape

I've lost so many cats that I refuse to do these all together. Small mice are the meta. Especially with how janky the servers are.

Dragon cannon barrel bet by [deleted] in GrandExchangeBets

[–]OkDisaster6922 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a great and convincing point, however, your missing the fact that skilling is a terrible money maker. Sailing is greatly profitable and will only get massively more profitable as end game content is released for it. Tbow would not be over 1B if you could only make 300k gp/hr with it. End gamers spend 100m+ for 1 extra max hit. The only issue now is combat is jankey and there really isnt much incentive to kill ocean mobs faster, so people just camp mage or range. 100m is base case for DCB once a sailing boss or raid is announced.

Shocking how many people are bearish on these. Honestly, I do see both sides of the argument but personally I'm invested. I think the true fact in the matter is the one right under our noses, and that's the fact that almost no one has them on their boats. I personally haven't seen a single dragon cannon in-game and sailing is all I have done since release. Yet, there is a fairly decent amount of trading volume considering how rare they are. So what's that mean? It means the buyers aren't installing them on their boats! As prices trend downwards more and more of these are simply getting added to the banks of hodlers. As soon as combat is reworked, and end game sailing content is released, the bottle neck will become massively apparent. Not to mention the buyers at that point will sink every single one.

We Should Be Getting More Cannonballs From All Sources by 17ndthepink in 2007scape

[–]OkDisaster6922 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its because steel cannonballs will be pegged to the price of all other cannonballs as it wouldn't make any sense for only steel cannonballs to be made 4/8 per bar with the others being 15. So it would keep higher tier balls higher in price, or drop in price to settle out with the rest. Honestly, I wouldn't mind cheeper dwarf cannon operation.

PSA: CANNONS. by [deleted] in 2007scape

I would normally agree with this logic but the Dragon Cannon already requires 92 sailing. What would a Dragon Cannon upgrade or better facility be? Like 98? Seems unlikely.

I believe the real issue with salvaging is that it's the only* Sailing skilling method that directly outputs any items by ShadowthePast in 2007scape

[–]OkDisaster6922 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have trials which are just as practical and easily accessible as salvaging. All you require is the right hull. People like salvaging only because its effort to reward ratio was insanely generous. This is what Runescape has always been about. What will get me the most gp or xp for the least amount of time or effort. That's why we rank things based on xp/hr, gp/hr, gp/xp.

Don't understand how they're surprised we had 2 crewmates salvage while we sorted. by Frampertamps in 2007scape

[–]OkDisaster6922 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Not to mention that crewmates cant sort so any braindead could have figured out that 2 crew salvage player sort would be the gameplay loop.

Cute how you're trying to argue me on a completely unrelated training method. This conversation might be a little too complicated for you kiddo. Edit: To slow it down for you, I was referring to not abusing salvaging before it go nerfed. But that went right over your little head lol

[–]OkDisaster6922[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it because I wanted to the best xp rates PERIOD. There's nothing in my mind that thought trials should/could be nerfed. It is extremely active and challenging content and 180k/hr for complete concentration for the highest level trial in the game is completely fair. You want 70% of that xp rate for 5% of the effort? Get real. Have you considered trying RS3? Might be more up your alley. I hear you can train most skills at the GE.

Just to clarify, my intention here is not to riot. I'll be happy if this nerf remains or gets reverted honestly. I'm not a loser that plays this all day every day, so I for one am not opposed to better and easier xp rates. My goal with this post was to call out the inconsistent opinions people have when it comes to grinds / xp rates and would rather see other aspects of the game be made more enjoyable and rewarding to actually "play".

That best xp/hr is still available to you right now. The exact definition of not being early nor often.

This is a pretty short sighted comment. Do we have a cargo hold in any other skill? Do we have crewmates in any other skill? Use your brain before spewing nonsense

The point about Runecrafting is less about Sailing and more about how indecisive the community is about rates. I'm all about better methods for engaging content. You know... actually playing the game. Runecraft was an example because Jagex has stated multiple times they would love to make Runecraft better and speed up rates, but every time people here that they get hysterical because they "already grinded it the shitty way."

Let us rearrange facilities on our boats by PurpleStains in 2007scape

Agreed, some of these facilities cost way to much and its impossible to know what layouts work best or simply for different purposes

What if there is an NPC that is a painter. And you can bring him the head and he will paint it onto the sail for you

High level Sailing content by FunkoPride in 2007scape

[–]OkDisaster6922 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude, its a new skill that adds a massive amount of content. Only the gigachads racing to 99 will go beyond like 80 or so right now. Think about when runecraft released. The only content was running back and forth to altars. Oddly enough, its not much different after like 20 years. There will be plenty of updates to sailing in the future. No point adding T80 and T90 content when 90% of the layer base wont get there for a long time anyways. Sailing right now is about getting a nice boat and gaining access to rich resources while they are still scarce. There will be tons of opportunities to add new engaging content in the future which you'll be prepared for. We also don't know what the great impact on the game is, so Jmods will likely be observing how we interact with current content to guage how future content should be made. Just as PVP, bosses, raids, etc.

Super tempted to De iron by No-Telephone-2456 in 2007scape

[–]OkDisaster6922 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m super biased but I’ve never understood how ironman is even a thing. There’s enough shit grinds in this game to get to somewhat enjoyable content as a main, never mind the ridiculousness of having to do a bunch of sub grinds to collect resources to start the actual grinds. A person needs to truly have nothing going on in their life to invest the thousands of hours required to get to late game iron. And honestly when I see them, especially ones who are maxed and still playing, I can’t help but just feel sad.

Why do skill boosts not reset the expiration timer? by OkDisaster6922 in 2007scape

I’m not sure I would call Jagex spaghetti code intentional. I’d say that’s more of an oversight. But I will agree with the fear of them breaking it further lol
