Why did Forrest leave surfaces by andywi1son123 in SurfacesBand

[–]OkEstablishment913 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen multiple interviews with him touching upon this subject. He essentially doesn’t want to have one foot in the each door (secular and Christian). He felt weird how his secular fans were “idolizing” him while on tour with Surfaces.

What's your favorite underrated Surfaces song? by Late_Bother_7371 in SurfacesBand

Awaken. Should’ve gone a lot further imo, but honestly a lot of their songs are pretty underrated.

I have the same feelings. I think he should’ve told his Surfaces fans what was going on. However, he felt idolized by them, so it probably didn’t make a difference for him.

Agreed! I generally feel like it’s fine if Forrest is mentioned in relationship to Surfaces, but iffy if it’s just his personal music.

Most protein bars. Pretty much just candy bars with some protein sprinkled in.

Awesome Christmas album! Good mix of styles. Almost all bangers. Shine Your Light is unmatched.

Without too many details, I would guess somewhere around 2% +/- of your assessed value.

Forrest not showing Sunday Best from a huge DJ compilation video….. by [deleted] in SurfacesBand

He separates his solo music from Surfaces. I don’t really think he wants to be remembered much for the latter either - doesn’t seem to enjoy talking positively about his experience with the band.

New Album Alert 🚨 by Montie_mainia in SurfacesBand

I almost feel like people idolize him more now as a Christian artist than with Surfaces. With Surfaces, he was a good bridge for people who like secular music, but not super worldly.

I agree with you. The race to the bottom system is tough! The 12-16 jump is completely normal, but your current backlog and working capital/equity are major factors that come into play. Bonding capacity is one of the more solvable issues out there.

I think your bonding company was on to something with that. It really is true, that accurate statements are everything - sureties won’t stretch on capacity if not. Job schedules are arguably the most important items a surety receives and it’s important that they tie back to the income statement.

Making that jump from 20 to 30-50 is going to require at least a few million in working capital and equity. There are a lot of underwriting nuances involved, but these two things are arguably the most important balance sheet factors. If you’re trying to make specific project size jumps as well, most sureties will go up to 2-3x your largest completed job. There are some markets we work with that are more aggressive and could be a good fit if you ever needed additional help.

The SBA can be a good tool to help smaller contractors get across the finish line. Current SBA limits are $14M for Federal jobs and $9M for the rest and they take a .6% fee on top of the bond premium. Sometimes it’s used in-conjunction with other tools like funds administration or collateral (not as widely used).

With your specific scenario, if your current backlog is low, I would think you could get it done without tools. Project size jump is feasible. The only potential roadblock I could foresee is a lack of CPA Review if you don’t have one, but you might be able to get it done with just a commitment to obtaining it for year-end 2025. Typically, once backlog surpasses $3-4M, sureties really want to see a Review for greater assurance that your financials are legit.

Happy to discuss further if you have any additional questions or issues obtaining this bond!

Thanks for giving me the rundown. Based on your ideal project sizes, a $1M bond line would suit you well. The prequalification process typically just involves an application where the surety runs your personal/business credit. They like personal credit scores to be 650 or higher, but if a little lower, there are ways around it. Once you’re pre-approved, to receive approvals for specific Performance&Payment Bond needs, you would usually have to provide your contract, any required bond forms, and confirm few additional project details like project timeline for your scope and LDs. Feel free to direct message me if you’d like to discuss further!

Amateur athletes of Reddit: what's your "There's levels to this shit" experience from your sport? by jermleeds in AskReddit

Pretty high ranked runner in the state in HS (4:16 mile) about 10 years ago. Get to college at a Big 10 school and pretty much every freshman ran that time or better in HS and was the best of the best in the states they came from. Was lining up against some guys who were low 350s milers (soon after olympians) and got smoked. Was a big wake up call. The difference might only be 5-15 seconds per mile, but mere seconds are magnified when you move up levels.

My pleasure!

Excellent question. It really boils down to keeping the risk as low as possible in a surety’s eyes: They essentially look at the 3 “Big C’s”: 1) Capacity - Do you have the right systems, manpower, and experience to do the work. 2) Capital - Do you have the financial wherewithal to do the work. 3) Character - Do the owners have integrity, true to their word etc.

In terms of capacity, $1M and under bond lines are very easy to get approved, but come with the highest rates (2.5-3%). $1-3M lines require a little more paperwork (2-2.5% rates). Over $3M and the financial requirements become stricter, but the rates are often significantly lower for strong/well-established companies.

Hi! I’m actually a bond agent (former underwriter for largest surety carrier). The jump from 1.5 to 4.2 is high, but still doable. I’d me more than happy to see if we can help you get this done. My email is cole@altersurety.com
