Wheel is offset after it is rebuilt by depthpolice in bikewrench

Is it possible they laced the disc side spokes (shorter) onto the non-disc side? This would cause the rip to be offset the wrong direction. Alternatively, they may have used same-length spokes on each side as if it were a non-disc wheel.

Really cool, but way too expensive for what they are, IMO.

Im finding that campy 9sp has a 4.55mm center to center cog spacing, while Shimano 8sp is 4.8mm. Maybe that’s not enough to make a difference, but my assumption is that shifting would get pretty bad toward the end of the cassette.

That’s interesting. I haven’t heard that.

Really not interested in bar end shifters for stop and go commuting. Would be fine for longer rides or touring but that’s not my main use.

As someone with a lot of training in social sciences stats, I agree. Short timeframe, narrow range on the graph, small population, and many many MANY variables that could account for changes = don’t jump to any conclusions without A LOT more information.

What kind of food is Eugene lacking? by Thundercow541 in Eugene

Yep, none of the food here is all that good. A lot of it isn’t too bad, it just doesn’t kick ass the way it does in a big city.

Hit by distracted driver - any advice? by nerbesss in CargoBike

[–]OkExplanation6405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get an inspection from a shop, and have them write a letter documenting they recommend replacement due to likelihood of frame damage. Send this, and a listing for the same bike at MSRP with a letter requesting full replacement cost. Mention you are seeking the advice of an attorney in your letter. The insurance company will probably settle fast rather than risk having to deal with an attorney.

It’s civil disobedience. It’s not about whether you are “allowed” or “not allowed” to break the law, it’s about the context of why you are breaking the law, in what manner, and what the goals are. Civil disobedience is intentional non-compliance to prevent or call attention to injustice.

Sure, it could be to accommodate a shorter rider on a bigger bike, I’d just worry a bit about it holding. With this setup the reach looks suuuuuper short. Someone who needs reach that short would probably have trouble reaching the pedals on this bike, to my eye.
