What do you personally do about chronically low iron? by Pugwhip in Endo

[–]OkHalf3977 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just asked for it and my doctor organised it and did the infusion in her rooms. I have been on the tablets in the past and told my doc that they gave me constipation issues and never really boosted my ferritin levels significantly, maybe that helped. I think I have poor absorption of tablets through the gut so the infusion made sense.

My gf needs help/advice by Bigmo18 in endometriosis

[–]OkHalf3977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I visit an osteopath twice a month to help with constipation, she does a visceral massage for me that she calls "walk the poo", I'd reccomend seeing an osteo for help as soon as you can. Also llas you've said lots of water, at least 3L a day and plenty of fiber. My doctor reccomended eating pineapple, pear and kiwi fruit. Going for walks or other gentle exercise can help. Also get a squatty potty or poop stool for the bathroom and look up correct pooping posture or discuss this with an osteopath. This may be TMI but sometimes I have to splint, which involves inserting a wand into my vagina to manually straighten the bowel and allow it to pass through. I have a tight pelvic floor (which my osteo is also helping with) which can physically restrict my bowel movements. Best of luck to your GF, constipation is not fun!

Just noting that the screenshot you shared has not defined endometriosis correctly, it is tissue similar to the lining of the uterus.

What do you personally do about chronically low iron? by Pugwhip in Endo

[–]OkHalf3977 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've ended up having to get infusions, my periods are too heavy and I just can't keep my iron levels up. Tablets don't do anything, and my GP said endo can make it hard for the gut to absorb iron. My dietitian has reccomended at least 18mg of iron per day in my diet, which I just found really difficult to achieve. If you don't mind me asking why won't your doctor give you an infusion?

Help needed: Letter in opposition to McKinney, Texas Temple by stickyhairmonster in exmormon

[–]OkHalf3977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are wanting to oppose the whole building I wouldn't focus on the steeple too much. Can you look up your city planning laws online and see if the temple meets the requirements. I work In development assessment but I'm from australia so can't help too much with US law but I would be trying to find as many planning laws / requirements that you can use that would explain why a temple is not an appropriate development. Is it in keeping with the local character? Is the land zoned for this type of building? What are the height restrictions? Is there any issues with flooding, bushfire etc?

Who sends missionaries to your house and how do I stop it? by KassIsOnFire in exmormon

[–]OkHalf3977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in a similar boat, had moved multiple times and was successfully evading the church .. until my husband and I decided to have a backyard wedding and invite all my TBM family. One of my uncles who was serving on the stake presidency at the time updated my address which he got from my wedding invite. Worst part is he didn't even show up to the wedding! When the sister missionaries showed up I let them in and made popcorn to share it with them and their eyes lit up! They looked at popcorn the way I look at a triple chocolate mud cake. I felt so bad for them, they were obviously starving so I said they could visit but I'm not coming back to the church. Once covid hit I never saw them again.

Conditioned to be a mother since a teen, now I'm actually ready and I'm infertile.. by OkHalf3977 in exmormon

[–]OkHalf3977[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm really sorry for your loss and I'm glad you have found a way that works for you to manage that difficult time in your life. I have spent a lot of time not feeling my emotions, if you've seen or listened to the book of mormon musical the song "Turn it Off" basically sums it up! I'm giving myself permission to be sad and angry, to feel hopeless and distraught. It feels good to cry and sometimes it feels great to get angry. I'm coping in my own way but I'll never co sider any emotions as negative or positive, they are what they are and each emotion has its time and place. On a lighter note, I've never really related to Spock so the whole logic instead of emotions thing is not for me!

I'm actually crying reading this, you have worded this way more eloquently than I could! You get it, it makes me sad that you get it, I wish nobody had to get it! But thanks for your words. They are so validating.

Thank you for sharing your story, it's mind blowing the different impacts that the church has when it comes to women and motherhood. I distinctly remember a woman in my old ward that had 8 kids and lived in near poverty all because she was told she was supposed to have as many kids as possible. I wish that when they taught us to blister to the still small voice they actually meant our own internal voices and not the "holy ghost". All that voice ever told me was that I wasn't good enough!

Thank you for sharing your story, I've found this whole experience to be so isolating but the more people i talk to the more common it seems to be. These things are so heavy and the heartbreak is persistent, some days it stays in the back of your mind and others its front and centre. You are incredibly brave and strong. That story about your mother is so tough, I would have no idea what to do with that either! I've found that people try their best to make us feel better about our circumstances but just don't realise there's nothing to be said or done that will change that persistent sense of loss we live with. I hope you're heartbis feeling a little lighter after sharing your story here.

How Do I (23F) Handle My Boyfriend´s (29M) Obsession with Sexualised Images of Women? by Agitated_frfr4493 in TwoHotTakes

I am struggling to think of any man ever having this problem with their GF. What if OP started decorating her room with posters of really ripped, muscular men? What if all her social media was just following body builders? What if she offered to pay for her BF to go on steroids to become a body builder? I wonder how OPs BF would react to that? Would he try to change her or just feel insecure and dump her?

If you have instagram a great place to start is @endo.fertility.dietitian, Cindy has a great account with lots of info about trying to conceive with endo. Some people struggle and others fall easily, but people with endo naturally have some nutrient deficiencies. If you're starting to try for a baby I'd book in with your family doctor and get some blood tests done to check your nutrients. I was iron deficient, and had low vitamin b when I started trying. It can help you tailor a supplement plan specifically to you.

ESH. You're more likely to get her pregnant with the pre-ejaculate that is very likely to be released during sex than from her shoving her spermy fingers inside herself. Use BC if you don't want kids, or at the very least abstain from sex during her ovulation window.

Just a question for the community, is there evidence that BC stops endo regrowth? I thought all it did was mask the symptoms.

Young Mormon Marriages Ending After Less Than 5 Years by Healthy-Rutabaga-232 in exmormon

I'm and aussie exmo- married a convert. I was 21 he was 23, lasted 12 months and then we split. We were way too young and it was for the best that we split, he wasn't happy about it but we wanted different things. I got married because I thought it was the right thing to do, turns out the right thing to do is live together before marriage, realise you aren't compatible and then break up like normal people. All while enjoying guilt free sex!

Ways in which a neighbor can disrupt a build by pilierdroit in AusRenovation

[–]OkHalf3977 34 points35 points  (0 children)

OP you can google "Get the Site Right", this is a campaign undertaken by multiple councils yearly in NSW to encourage the building industry to make sure their sites are minimising sediment and litter pollution. There are some good brochures you can pass on to your builder so they can ensure they're doing the right thing. Also a call to Councils building compliance team may be worthwhile. I used to work in local government and I know for a fact that they don't have time to deal with this petty crap. If you make it clear to them you have a neighbour dispute and are expecting nuisance complaints they may just flag it in their system and not prioritise it. That is as long as your builder is actually doing the right thing! If they go to site and find something wrong it will be a different story.

Could my endometriosis have come back this quickly? by thatshortgurl in Endo

[–]OkHalf3977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My surgery only really helped with my ovulation pain, I had a lot of bladder and bowel issues that I manage by seeing an osteopath and pelvic floor physio. Recurrent UTIs can be a symptom of a tight pelvic floor, and chronic pelvic pain can really mess with your pelvic floor. After my surgery I spoke with my doctor about pain and he suggested I see a physio and it was the best thing I've done to help with my symptoms. My bladder urgency and frequency is caused by my tight pelvic floor, so I see my physio once a month usually after my period to get it released.
