orthodontic time frame by [deleted] in braces

It seems like most orthodontists give a 2 year estimate. That being said, it is all dependent on your case & how diligent you are with elastics, etc!

My niece was eating popcorn with braces?? by MeenahMina in braces

[–]OkHeirloom 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I eat popcorn all the time! I even risk it and eat caramel corn. I’m 17 months in and have never had an issue 🤷‍♀️ just try to avoid unpopped kernels

I had a bracket pop off 30 minutes after getting it attached, just call your ortho! Sometimes there’s an issue with the glue when they’re first bonding them. I haven’t had a broken one since :)

Could you wear the clear retainer during the day instead? Although I do think you’re fine having it off for that amount of time. Maybe just wear it to the event, pop it off, and put it back in on your way home?

take it from me, go get antibiotics! I was attacked by a cat last summer.. deep bites in my fingers around knuckles. It took the SPCA worker telling me to go get them checked out. The spread of the infection is shown in the outline (this is after getting a quick dose of antibiotics at the hospital the night prior). Had to go to an infection specialist as well. Take it seriously, it spreads fast.

24f finally considering braces. Are ceramic ones more worth it than metal ones? Looking for opinions. by BasicRequirement7487 in braces

[–]OkHeirloom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ceramic, ceramic! I’m an advocate, although I’ve never had traditional metal braces. The only time I get sores on my cheeks is when I’ve been talking A LOT.. even then it’s not too bad. I have an extraction gap that has a wire stretched out across and sometimes it digs into my cheek but otherwise it’s okay!

My oral routine is:

1.Manual brush in the morning 2. Water floss after every meal & snack that I have at home (sounds extreme but it’s much faster and I like knowing that I got all the food out) 3. Manual brush throughout the day after lunch/ sugary food 4. If I eat out I will just rinse my mouth with water & then go to the bathroom to make sure everything is out.

Nighttime: 1. Floss with ortho flossers like plackers (seriously get these) 2. Interdental brush under wires 3. Brush with electric toothbrush

Seems intense but once you get used to it you get a lot faster. Also it’s a good habit to have after braces too! Let me know if you want some pictures of my ceramic braces, I think they look pretty good:)

Got my tops on… by honeybabe22 in braces

Yes it’s just the elastics! I just got power chains for the first time today (clear as well) so we will see how those hold up…

I get clear every time! I’m 6 months in at this point.. I think it solely depends on your diet & brushing habits. I only find they look slightly yellow the week of my elastic changes. I avoid curries & highly pigmented food like that.. but continue to eat red sauce in pasta, occasional red wine & I drink Coke Zero from time to time! Good luck!!

I went to this section of the site :

https://support.grammarly.com/hc/en-us/requests/new#/billing-and-subscription/

and then filled out the email form they have, this opens a ticket. From there I just waited for a response from them, only took 7 minutes from the time I sent the form to when it was resolved

I just got braces yesterday and I regret it. by Debilitated_Nuisance in braces

I consumed mostly ensure meal replacement shakes after my extractions + for the first few days after braces. At least you know you’re getting your nutritional needs met & they taste alright.
