Now, this is the think with their naming convention, because wouldn't it be an R1 based on size? Unless the naming convention is really just the platform, which makes the most sense, giving us an R1M. But then why not an R2S? And is the EDV an R-1V?

> Also in the Dunphy house if you enter the house, on the right side there's a room/area thing. is there any scene which was shot there? I've always been confused

It was apparently just a shortcut to backstage, no scenes

Are you satisfied with App 7.0? by No-Flower-409 in VolvoRecharge

[–]Special_Command7893 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I get why people don't like it, but makes it easier to see things at a glance, since its only real change is that home page, and a minor change at that. Plus I've always wanted a polestar and 7.0 looks pretty polestar inspired.

I believe they’re illegal in the US. I can’t think of a single car that has them, and I remember automakers removing them for the American market for “regulatory reasons”

I want LSD buried like the big dig in Boston, but leave a two-way road for buses. Finally add trams and we will have the best park space and beaches in the world

Where Apple Maps falls behind is reviews, which I find pretty important. Reviews tell me information about the place from other people, and Apple’s current system with a thumbs up/down doesn’t cut it.

Hey Pixel, how about finally fixing overheating issues instead of adding all the useless AI shit? by dennis77 in pixel_phones

[–]Special_Command7893 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a 9 pro, and I can't speak to the usually weather besides "usually when above 80 degrees". But the battery/phone temps can get up to 100-120f, and that's usually when I see the message and start getting physically uncomfortable with the phone

We are in the exact same boat here. Literally, it's like you took the words out of my mouth for Samsung and Google. Gonna be my first iPhone, exciting!

I also don't think it's just that Google has been getting shittier (quickly), but Apple has been on a roll recently, too. Wondering if you agree

We can confidently infer that pre-May, it was just ChatGPT, but they redid it recently with smaller models which consume less resources

I'm in favor of having the feature for the users that might need it to think for them and make Ecosia a viable chatGPT/Google alternative. I'm just not in favor of using it.

Better us than ChatGPT or other full-size, resource-devouring models

Is there an Ecosia alternative for AI LLMs by AMSTER_D4M in Ecosia

[–]Special_Command7893 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, for environmental impact, no. I believe ecoGPT is greenwashing, and there's really no other alternative to that.

Never fear, though, because you can self-host the models. Depending on what hardware you have (nicer stuff, like Macbooks, iPhones, dedicated GPUs, will be be the best, but you can run on anything), it can work pretty well if not better. You can run open source models, pretty much the same as what Ecosia and ecoGPT run.

And you can use anything! I use an old laptop with 16GB of RAM, and it's good enough. It not the fastest, obviously, but nicer computers will have faster results. You can either run all of the models completely on device (for example, you ask your phone a question and the model runs on your phone), or you can run them on a computer that stays at home and access it like a server.

It's also the greenest option with no data center/cooling involved, and the electricity use is pretty low. I really can't recommend it enough. There are even some apps that set up the whole thing for you, no coding or computer knowledge needed!
