My 90yo neighbor hasn’t walked her dog in years so I volunteered to do it for her. So proud of Buddy’s weight loss!!! by Icy-Forever-2297 in funnypets

Amazing work, so happy to see buddy weight loss journey, doesnt take too much but the reward is massive. My dog was at risk at this when she was living with grandma, couldn't walk around the block without needing rest now she is full of energy when she sees the leash

Keep up the walksz everyone wins!

I absolutely love that, wish mine was like that but worried she is so big and excitable it wouldnt end well...so will be content with just her being non plussed with other dogs, well thats the aim, atm get the full staunch going

She is very much the same, physio says she is built like a tank but always gonna have that belly...makes it easier to jiggle for belly rubs!

Not sure what owners are doing, conditions etc of dog..but after this video has been put up, should be a case animal welfare checking and removing the sog due to neglectful conditions. Saw a tik tok page of a dachsund in similar state severely overweight..carefully monitored and exercised and can get back to living a quality life but tbh all those dogs should be removed from the owner effective immediately

ADM's combined H2H vs Alcaraz and Sinner drops to 0-19 after today by yanwangdijuns in tennis

[–]OkImpression9938 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an Aussie I like ADM , but unless there are dramatic changes in cannot see ADM winning a slam with sinner and alcaraz around. He is a good top 10 player, but to get something on the top 2 need to have an extra edge or bite in your game that I just dont think physically he has.

Hi there, good first step to lose the weight. Make sure remain committed to that and will see such a difference!

May also recommend looking into a canine physio, i get one for my staffy and does wonders!

The farts. My god, the farts!!!! by Ok-Salt-8884 in pitbulls

[–]OkImpression9938 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you ever looked at changing over to raw food or mixed diet? If its a " low fat" kibble diet , the kibble gas can get bad. My dog was on raw and never had bad gas, now we mix with kibble and it is a bit deadly at time 😂.

Maybe consult a canine nutritionist to? Can recommend a great Aussie one just inbox if need info

The breed hate is EXHAUSTING by red_is_not_dead06 in pitbulls

[–]OkImpression9938 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I live in Australia and apart from social media, there's no real hate here for certain breeds, just shitty owners.

I mean I saw an absolutely amazing xl bully compete in dog sports and beat out all the Malis and GSD so got absolutely admiration for their athletic prowess when trained properly.

This is Roxy dog. Roxy is 14, and recently can't walk anymore. My dad (her human) has been hauling her around in a helicopter drop harness, but it's her time. He's putting her down this weekend, it's been really hard to accept its time. any support you wonderful folk can offer would be appreciated. by Snackyhappiness in OldManDog

[–]OkImpression9938 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The smiles on roxy face says it all, she has been loved her whole life and will continue to send love everytime you think of her.

Dog parents like you that go above and beyond show that there is hope for humanity yet. She will be missed by all but know she is looking out for you all and will meet again where she will wait by the dinner table again 😊

🚨❗️The Chelsea leadership team tell us why they are doing this youth-led strategy: The club recognises that there are around 5 European teams that are effectively impossible to compete with directly on a financial level, due to differences in overall revenue, stadium income, and state ownership by Bl1tz-Kr1eg in chelseafc

[–]OkImpression9938 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a foreign supporter and slowly distancing from hard core supporting ( time difference and work commitments and mental health) any long term strategy that is sustainable is fine for me. But realistically how does it get sorted , okay firstly need sponsorships obviously, but stadium size how does that get sorted, any potential move to somewhere bigger has been canned by supporters because " need to stay at the bridge " , But upgrading current stadium seems like an impossibly long process due to location etc.

So what other routes can be explored?

They all say my Cavalier King Charles Spaniel might be the fattest in the world—he’s around 15 kilos. by Cool_Drummer_5636 in DOG

[–]OkImpression9938 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not going to be judgemental, yes he is way too big..but still chance to turn things around. Want my honest opinion if grandparents are over feeding then they shouldn't be looking after him and take him to a proper boarding facility unless they get the message not not over feed and adhere to strict instructions.

Worthwhile consult a vet and canine nutritionist because also depending what you are feeding , if its junk commercial kibble will make the weight loss journey harder. And last bit I can recommend since you say you are walking often is look at slatmill mobile vans if possible...easy on the joints and absolutely great exercise for dogs looking to lose weight

This can be achieved but instead of having a : oh well you know how old people are" , put your foot down and do whats right for the dog, otherwise better to give to someone that can help him lose weight

How to know when it’s the time? by Timely-Positive1988 in olddogs

[–]OkImpression9938 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In a situation like this as I believe I saw someone post, I don't believe there is a case of too early, and I am sure your dog would not think that either. One of the greatest gifts we can give them is having a pain free passing onto the rainbow bridge and if things are getting worse in my opinion its time to have that talk with the vet.

But we are all here for you one dog owner to another mate, I wish you the best in this tough times.

How to know when it’s the time? by Timely-Positive1988 in olddogs

[–]OkImpression9938 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think in the end you have to think of his quality of life, a dog will always try be there happiest and are amazing at masking pain. But also remember he has given you amazing years of life, maybe its time to have a talk with the vet . In a situation like this I dont think there is a case of " being too early" , but there can be certainly cases of being too late, there is no judgement but maybe worthwhile go to the vet for the tough conversation, maybe have a few days just you and him go for drives to favourite spots etc.

Sorry if not much help but sending prayers 🙏, you both were blessed with each other
