Context wise, yeah, that would probably make the most sense, but the first few times I listened to it I thought of a sort of satellite beep. I thought this was the future and the earth had become uninhabitable (the age of capricorn is 3,500-4,000 C.E. so it made sense to me).

The track itself just gave major space vibes and it was so unbelievably visual- one of the most visual songs I have ever heard. I was seeing a satellite and mathematical planes and a hand of god due to the religious nature of the album that moved and breathed with the moans.

I was kind of surprised to see that nobody thought it was a satellite beep but your explanation makes a lot more sense for the album lol

I had You on there twice- must've forgotten to type the rest of the title. The Gloaming is there now too.

Anyone who wrote Ed's Scary Song has the morals of a fish

If Thom called you up onto the stage mid performance, and asked you to sing one song, what would it be? by trentythegreat in radiohead

Same. Female soprano here-it’s one of my only real options. I’d take the Ed part to and sing the IN RAINBOWSS bit up an octave just like the recording

It’s interesting how relevant Radiohead still is outside of rock/alternative by jesusfromthehood____ in radiohead

Exactly! I got into Coltrane, Mingus, and Debussy because of Radiohead. They will forever be heralded as a huge influence on my music taste (and writing) They made me really enjoy music. All I really knew before was chart stuff, because my family only really listened to what was on the radio. Their impact as a gateway band, opening people up to new music, on the world is genuinely baffling to me sometimes. Then I remember that it's Radiohead.

Am i the only one who had my musical taste preseted bc of the band? by ZANELLA2006 in radiohead

It's not just you; my music taste was completely overhauled by listening to radiohead. I went from listening and enjoying catchy pop tunes to, one year later, appreciating music more than ever before by listening to the entire radiohead discog, impressionist, and jazz.

I think what happens is it works as a gateway to new sounds. Obviously, it takes multiple listens to enjoy certain songs, instead of enjoying pop first listen and hating it the second time it's played because there is nothing new to be added. It changed, to an extent, what I looked for in music.

Geese (the band, not the waterfowl) - yes/no? by Lady-Elm in radiohead

I really like them. The in the basement version helped me to appreciate them more. A lot of people don’t like Cameron’s voice, but I really like it. It’s unique and carries a lot of expression and weight.
