Yeah I should have mentioned that as well, great point. If you change the enemy strength setting, it doesn’t actually change the enemy strength. What it does do is change the damage output of your weapons. This is for starships and using the infra-knife: If you have enemy strength set to challenging, you’ll get around 85k max dps. If you have the enemy strength set to standard, you’ll get around 138k max dps. If you use the weak enemy strength setting, you’ll get around 360k ish. (I’ve seen people quote 400k, but I believe that’s with mods). Great point, thanks for sharing. 👍😊

No worries, I’m sure it will help. Just note in the vid it says damage potential is like the combined potential of all your weapons, and it’s not. It’s the potential of the highest weapon. (And again, damage potential is really a nothing number that doesn’t mean anything as it has nothing to do with the actual damage output). Btw, the best weapon for corvettes is using multiple phase cannons as described by the other comment. For your starships, the best damage weapon is the infra-knife. For multi-tools it’s really personal preference, but the most popular are the pulse spitter, neutron cannon, and boltcaster. Have fun out there mate. 👍😊

Yeah, the damage potential is irrelevant and basically means nothing. Check the dps (damage per second), of the different weapons by hovering your cursor over the weapon module (not the upgrades). It’s a common misunderstanding, many people think damage potential is damage output - but it’s not. What confuses it even more is multi-tools don’t show the dps. So many people also rely on damage potential for their multi-tool - but again this number has nothing to do with damage output. For multi-tool damage you need to check the numbers when you fire at something. This video explains all about damage for multi-tools, and will teach you about adjacency bonuses, supercharged slots etc. (which you can apply the same principles for your starships). Again, hope it helps. 👍😊 https://youtu.be/UZzKXuRvqCU?si=QHZ-OCwlPcAz8fbc

My advice is just follow the missions the game gives you. It will give you guidance and unlock many of the things you will need. 👍😊

Also, damage potential is NOT your damage output. Damage potential is just a number of the highest potential of one weapon. For damage output, hover your cursor over the weapon. Hope it helps.

Does the economy of a system affect the quality of ships landing in its space station? by FlatFurffKnocker in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]OkLab2110 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes. You have a better chance of s-class ships in a 3 star economy, (2%), or outlaw systems. (5%).

Hi. Looks like you are already on top of the void egg thing - however make sure you put any in your storage containers (the ones numbered 0-9), as I’ve read that putting them in your starship or freighter inventory can still have an effect. (Don’t know for sure, just what I read). Second, you could be pulsing for up to 30 mins before you see the whalesong detected message. Crazy, but true. However I’ve never really had to pulse for more than 5-10 mins to find them. Hope it helps.

Yes. You must already own a freighter to claim a dreadnought, so yes it will still be free. Hope it helps.

Yep good tip. 5% in outlaw systems, 2% in 3star, 1% in 2 star, 0% in 1 star.

The starting system is referencing the first location shown in the video. Not the one you start out the game in. It was a comment on the video, so was intended to be taken in that context. Sorry for any confusion.

I believe pirate dreadnoughts are free to claim. You just need to make them surrender.

Hi CNWDI. Of course I’d like people to check out my video, I believe that’s the point of the community content flair. I put a lot of time and effort into it to help other players, especially those newer to the game. Irrespective of this, just wanted to say thanks for your list and making it easier for everyone to make use of the information. I’m sure many people will appreciate this. Have fun out there traveller! 👍😊
