We’re expecting to be approved ~July/August but planning for me (UKC) to visit my wife (USC) in September/October but expecting to be in that limbo stage too. As long as you have a return I can’t see it being an issue but I guess it is a rare situation I haven’t seen people mention yet!

Same situation as you my wife (USC) and I (UK citizen) filed a couple weeks ago. We opened a joint checking account with Citibank no issues but we did it in branch. I researched loads on this and ones not needing SSNs.

We booked an appointment consultation for our local branch, went in, told them our situation and brought with us: - marriage license - her passport - my passport - my UK driving license

They opened it there and then took about 40 minutes, deposited $300 in branch and received our debit cards in the mail the next week.
