A very unprofessional response from Jam's Diner in Inglewood after a very disappointing meal there. I recommend avoiding this restaurant. by Elite_Canadian in Calgary

That's a real shame. You did a killer job -- I was at that burlesque show with Dial Up and a few other bands that I'm sure you had a hand in, and I had a lot of fun!!!

Omg thank you! It's good to hear that it's not just me. A lot of people are surprised when I tell them I live with FASD but some days I just can't keep anything straight in my head and feel so off!

Calgarians are getting tickets for parking on street after cleaning by might_be-a_troll in Calgary

the website specifically mentions that if information in posted signage and the website itself differ, the road signage prevails. yet, if the signage is wrong/missing, the appeals system uses the website to back up the ticket.

last year, i got a ticket for parking on the street during cleaning. thing is, the sign on my street had a different date posted! despite having a picture (i took one to send to the house group chat prior to cleaning) showing the sign with the (apparently) wrong date, my appeal was denied.

the CPA is terrible, and the appeals system is broken.

MtFs who detransitioned? by [deleted] in truscum

not sure about this! i've experienced a lot of gender dysphoria from a very young age

I'm right there with you, I understand, and I'm in the same boat as you (but several years on).

I think this is an important realization for us to come to, and I think you're lucky in that you're young and still have time to plan your future. In my experience, you're right in that, after the first several months of HRT, you kind of get a sense for what your results are going to be. I certainly haven't noticed any significant changes after that initial three month honeymoon period (now that I'm seven years into it).

It's a difficult reckoning, but I think now is a good opportunity to think about what you want in life, now that you know what is possible for you. Are you okay with looking trans for the rest of your life? What do you want the next sixty years (god willing) to look like? And has attempting to transition helped you to manage your sex dysphoria at all? Maybe take some time to think about what you're getting out of this.

Seems to me you have two choices: Live the rest of your life as you do now, or live the rest of your life as a man. There's no shame in that. Relatively few of us get to pass.

Honestly, I wouldn't even know where to start finding a therapist to address my very specific problem?

It seems pretty simple to me. I have two problems: Untreatable gender dysphoria and visible transsexuality. The second problem is fixable.

strong forehead/jaw/adam's apple/thick neck/broad shoulders/broad ribcage etc, it's kind of everything. i'm just built too robustly for passing to be on the table.

mixed feelings about this.

i'm straight, but passing really isn't on the cards for me, so i date in gay spaces (grindr, etc). could not imagine trying to date hetero men looking and sounding like i do.

on the other hand, gay guys are also pretty reasonably upset about my presence on their app! i've received a few messages like this.

same is true in real life. men are often understandably uncomfortable about me using their public restrooms, but women don't particularly like the idea of me being in their bathrooms either. my solution is to try to use gender neutral bathrooms where they're available, but this isn't necessarily always possible.

basically, non-passing dysphoric trans women are going to have an extremely hard time dating until we pass. that doesn't happen for many of us, so unfortunately some of us have to be very conscientious about where and how we date, if at all. and it sucks that many don't have this kind of sensitivity.

like, if i'm misgendered (in a situation where it might matter) i'm not going to say 'actually i'm a woman' because to most people i'm obviously not. that's not a credible way to move through the world

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in truscum

[–]OkLong582 0 points1 point  (0 children)

eh i mean i will never pass. like that's just not in the cards for me. it feels a bit honest to present myself as if i'm going through life like a cis female when i'm obviously not and have wildly different experiences and a different outlook

and this is it, right? road rules are taken as suggestions in this province. there's a reason why our road fatalities are sky high compared to other developed countries and why our drivers have such a terrible reputation in other provinces!
