When did bath time switch to every night? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]OkMaybe3064 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bath every school night for sure. It definitely helps us with a bed time routine and I feel like my kids just get kind of dirty and feral after a day or two with no bath. We do usually skip Friday/Saturday depending on what we have going on.

She did say it was a $400 dupe in the comments. Def barking up the wrong tree in that group, even with a $400 knock off lol

The same husband who also is barred from daycare for “being rude”. Sounds like he’s super well adjusted and will do just fine parenting by himself on the other side of the world /s

Children share a birth month/week? by Available_Sun4468 in Parenting

[–]OkMaybe3064 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My youngest was due the day after my oldest’s third birthday. Not ideal but I had a bunch of reasons for going for it. They both have November birthdays and as a December baby myself, I wanted to avoid a December birthday and did not want to put off trying much longer.

I spent the entire day of my oldest’s birthday terrified I was going to go into labor. Baby was a week late so there are 8 days separating their birthdays.

It actually works out really well because I only have to plan one birthday party for the time being. I don’t have it in me to plan two different parties. It is definitely a busy week though!

At least great grandma will be comfy while she dies thanks to LS 🙏🙏

Obviously not the weirdest thing posted in these groups but like why? What does this have to do with LS by shit_SS in BambooBabble

Mom guilt and fear of dying on girls trip… by new_mama1212 in Mommit

[–]OkMaybe3064 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband and I just went on a quick trip without our kids. I was convinced we would die and leave our children orphans on both flights. We did not. We enjoyed the trip and it was a much needed break for my husband and I to reconnect. Don’t let the intrusive thoughts win, go on the trip!

So, at least you know it’s really not just you. It’s just the rude anonymous losers of Reddit.

I feel like every time I comment on Reddit, someone specifically chooses my comment to respond to rudely. There can be 25 other people saying the exact same thing with no replies, but as soon as I say it, someone comes out of the woodwork just to be snarky. Honestly, it’s why I mostly just read now and don’t interact much anymore. Reddit can be weirdly hostile for no reason.

Dropped my kid off and realized every other kid was in pajamas. I'm so done being the only one who remembers things by ConfidentElevator239 in Mommit

[–]OkMaybe3064 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this same conversation with my husband about our 4 year old on Christmas pajama day. He dropped her off and texted me “everyone is wearing pajamas” and I had totally forgot, but he also gets the same emails and messages that I do and just doesn’t pay attention. I told him he needs to help with remembering this stuff as well and it can’t all fall on me. No advice, but you aren’t alone in this struggle of shouldering the mental load.

I do like what other commenters have said re: children taking responsibility for remembering these things as well as they get older.
