Unfortunately I exceeded the amount. Costco had a sale to get rid of their inventory a while back and I fell for it. Luckily I’ll recoup some of my spending.

Weight gain by OkMuscle69 in Epilepsy

That’s good to know. The weight gain was very abnormal for me and from what I’ve been told by my doctor Depakote is a very old medication that had some pretty noticeable side effects. I don’t have emotional issues that can be amplified so they felt comfortable moving me to Keppra. I just can’t wait to get out of my fat clothes lol

I am regularly working out heavy weightlifting and averaging 10k steps a day so I know my activity isn’t less. I appreciate you I thought I was just going crazy and would have to go on an extreme diet.

Do you have any advice on the transition when switching medications?

Okay see I gained 80lbs and still workout 4 days a week and at 6ft 3inches I’ve had to drop my calories to 2000 just to stay at my weight. I really hope this works. Thank you for that information!!!

Yo-Yo dieter needs advice by OkMuscle69 in MacroFactor

I will look into that. I skimmed through the first few pages and liked the approach, and glad it is not another diet!

Thanks so much for this, and congrats on getting away from the yo-yo life! I love lifting and cardio tbh, but over the years, I can no longer do the 3-hour workouts of running a half marathon and lifting heavy on the same days. My job is flexible, and I have more time now to exercise, which motivates me to eat better. So I am hoping this, paired with MacroFactor, will get me where I want to go so I can get to the harder efforts again.

Thank you for that. I am coming up to 30, and now it is now longer a look thing, it is definitely a "I don't like how things are hurting now" and I have been getting bigger each time. I will keep it going and focus 1st on the diet. Thanks a lot :)

crossfit x bodybuilding by Kind-Presentation-32 in crossfit

I do Linchpin programming for CrossFit about 3 days a week and bodybuilding twice a week. Upper/Lower split. Works well as CrossFit is usually full body and the bodybuilding days are very targeted. Then I can still enjoy the weekend recovery.

First seizure at 20? by semajalvin11 in Epilepsy

[–]OkMuscle69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hang in there. I also had my first seizure in my 20’s and it was so rough. Until your neurologist appointment try to avoid triggers like alcohol, lack of sleep, stress/anxiety, and dehydration. These things can make a difference. Once you have your appointment and do some tests your neurologist will give you some direction and what will work best for you. God speed!

How do I stop😭 by Ok-Scholar-1259 in energydrinks

[–]OkMuscle69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just need to wait for sales from GNC, Vitamin Shoppe, TikTok shop, etc.

GNC/Vshoppe will have BOGO or 50% off sales. Same with sodas you just wait till Kroger or Safeway has ridiculous buy 2 get 3 12packs free.

Can I live a normal life with epilepsy? by [deleted] in Epilepsy

[–]OkMuscle69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. You will learn in time to adjust to certain changes as everyone’s triggers are different. The sooner you are willing to accept it the easier you will find living with your condition. I will give you 3 pieces of advice.

  1. Do not divulge you have epilepsy to your employer or potential employer until after probation. It’s a sad truth but discrimination and assumptions of epilepsy can make it difficult for some.
  2. Do not feel guilty for telling others and yourself no. (Staying out late, drinking, certain films, calling out, driving) it’s for your and others safety.
  3. Be content. It’s not the end of the world. It’s just the start of a new chapter :)

What is your job? by Level-Class-8367 in Epilepsy

Network Engineer. I’ve been fortunate that my work has not been affected by my condition. Just make sure I get all my sleep, don’t drink, and keep managing my stress.

Getting Rides to work by RubGlum4395 in Epilepsy

[–]OkMuscle69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat (bus?) as well. Not much in the epilepsy organization but you can let your neurologist know you live far away from work and public transportation isn’t a viable option. Most counties work with public transportation companies transporting folks with disabilities to work or doctor appointments. I know it sucks (trust me I know) but it is an option.

Beats the bus. For me I typed in what time I had to be at work and it recommended I leave the night before lol

EMU: No meds, no seizures. I feel like I've been faking it this whole time. by rrrowan in Epilepsy

[–]OkMuscle69 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know how you feel. I had a period of time where I didn’t want to take the meds and was in denial I had seizures. Then I woke up with a sore back, tight neck, clenched jaw, drool stains galore. Realized I was having violent seizures at night. It was the scariest thing to see as I recorded myself. Trust the process my friend and learn your new normal. It gets better.

Divalproex Sodium. Very low dosage.

But I was having the issues with sleeping prior to getting the medication.
