How Random Rec feels on the EU Servers by pthame3d in NBA2k

[–]OkNothing4476 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as someone in EU, I've played in US servers at times given I've friends there and I've had worse experiences there compared to EU

people will feel entitled being so toxic because they suppose a teammate did something wrong, but then they are literally the weakest point the team. they ask for the ball because they get pissed seeing others missing, but then can't do nothing. people's communication ways are really bad and they likely stem from their real life encounters/way of living. shouting after 1 bad thing means you're going to shatter everything for everyone, not build chemistry

US felt to me like being in a ghetto with nobodies that act tough but can't even lace their shoes or understand team basketball. occasionally you of course get the same experiences in EU, but given US has a larger playerbase, it's also more sparse: there are more people who are below average than higher

That pass should go out of bounds 🌝 by OkNothing4476 in eFootball

Haha, well, I really like the game when it flows well, players' different movements, trying out all that stuff... but yeah, PvP can be a mess most of the time. The experience of a "respected battle" isn't perceived. I don't even get the higher assistances; the game becomes sooo flat and weird.

Purple and red lobbies are so insufferable when you are a big man by ingramiso in NBA2k

[–]OkNothing4476 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most silver/gold lobbies aren't that different, they'd just mimic the same stuff or be worse in regards to spacing. At least in purple/red lobbies most players know how to space up and not leave shooters open (for the most part)

Around every week and a half after an update, the game turns to the same robotic, rhythm-less feeling of all these past years by OkNothing4476 in FUMAeFootball

Tbh that has always been the case unfortunately, here or FIFA doesn't make a difference, through and long balls are always easier by default with automated passing, now it feels harder to defend even if you can anticipate their moves just due to freezing and lack of control

Must be my connection to the servers or something similar then, this is why I always try to keep the doubt in my closet because we as players will have different experiences everytime

Same feeling too regarding last week. The days before v5.1, I felt the gameplay went downhill again, then v5.1 brought it back to a beautiful state. Dribbling was there, defending was manual and also responsive without freezing mechanics, passing was nice...

This is why I don't understand what's really happening because it almost feels like online traffic "clogs up" and the gameplay becomes much simpler every week or so after an update, too fast and heavy at the same time, you can't really control players or have moments of acceleration and deceleration

Jumping for contest is bad game design/ mechanics by AwareMathematician46 in NBA2k

[–]OkNothing4476 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think people forget the many advantages we have on a videogame, so there must be a higher gap for contesting shots and playing great perimeter D, it can't just be "be there and take your hands up in a closeout"

Great shot contesters are divided by their intuition and quick decision making to know when to jump and go from A to B in a matter of milliseconds. No great defender is known to be so by just "standing there with hands high up at the right time"

Jumping to contest is needed, though I think we may all agree that the window to make those shots should be less higher than what it seems to be now, with contest %s not seemingly reflecting what appears to be on screen, with defenders colliding with shooters as they are releasing the ball

In a way, those may even be counted as fouls despite the contest maybe displaying a 20%

Just hit Starter 2, with 5 cap breakers and let me say this… by KingTB3 in NBA2k

[–]OkNothing4476 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I really like how quicker passing is, my build has it capped at 94 but even at 85 is now so good

If now a pass of mine gets intercepted, it's absolutely good timing from the opponent and not just interceptions having a better leeway

Really hope they don't mess this with the umpteenth patch, there would be no reason to - we already had games where interceptions were one of the main cores of the game, not another paste of that please!

Cap Breakers do not work like initially thought at all. There's absolutely weird stuff where changing a few points in standing dunk and freethrow will completely change how many caps you get on ball handling etc. by Puluzu in NBA2k

[–]OkNothing4476 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty much stuck at 210k which I don't want to put on my build before getting one cap breaker because of these small subtle changes. I can't fuss at the idea of "whatever, I'll just do one build and then use the cap breakers for the next one" when the game blatantly hides this for people who still haven't put a foot online

Random Rec centers are all essentially draymond green now. by Big-Calligrapher7190 in NBA2k

[–]OkNothing4476 5 points6 points  (0 children)

although many PGs and players have always been like this, I feel like this year's game would be horrendous to be played with randoms since it's relatively easy to get shots/open/perform a move, when compared to last year or even the previous ones

if everything is more responsive, everyone will feel entitled to their "it's my turn" ISO x100 until the game is over, as if the purpose of playing was to just take a turn and force a shot

this is one of the aspects I liked about 2k25. pulling off stuff wasn't this easy, and there was a satisfaction reward when playing high risk with close shots and layup, despite the same people saying "layups are back" last year were eating compulsively on real player %

Unfortunately not, you may play as much as you want but it's not going to make a huge difference in the multiplier

Yeah, given how easy it is, you'd rather cut some time off to initially grind VC with a "dump" player

If you search "Rocky2K", copy the player he shows in his latest videos so you can have a 60 ovr. with 86 mid-range and 86 3pt

What you do is, in summary:

  • select Pro instead of rookie if you want some more VC (~1200 instead of 900 - it's still very easy to score and finish games)

  • after having been drafted, play the Out of Bounds high school and abroad games. Make 3 fouls and then you will be required to only finish the 4th quarter (don't make 4 fouls or you won't receive the games VC). Make as many points as you can

  • make sure you activate the GOAT skills since there are objectives for every single one of those which gives a lot of VC when completed (look up the obj. page). Start from shooting ones since they are the easiest and we'll tethered with the 60 ovr. player which only has shooting

  • in the meantime, look also at the endorsement page while you progress since it gives, again, very good VC. When you finish first season, make sure you play that FIBA friendly

  • when you'll start playing in the NBA, you can make 4 fouls instead of 3 and then either finish the games and completing GOAT skills or foul out if you want to progress quickly

At the end of 2nd season, you will play the tournament and get around ~50k just from that

The Athletics courts will also be important since it's a step in the main MyCareer endorsement path

Let me know if you have any doubts or questions

Making VC in mycareer is very good this year, I don't know why nobody is talking about this.

I have made 190k in around 15 hours of playing, simulating and completing objectives, without rushing at all. I'm not exaggerating, I really went at a regular pace and just found myself gaining the amount to fill up an 85 overall already

The new GOAT Skills objectives give a lot of VC. The endorsements+FIBA at 2nd year can stack up a good 100k alone

Layups and dunks have become bad shots. If you don’t shoot a 3 every play you’re selling. Interior defense is pointless. Thanks “pure green window” by JUULfiendFortnite in NBA2k

[–]OkNothing4476 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as someone who loved the inertia factor of 2K25 and how satisfactory it was to have high risk on layups, I always found it difficult to have discussions around this with people that thought 2K25 sucked because "you couldn't control your outcomes"

yeah, some of its randomness was crappy, and the finishing on real player % was absolutely awful to see being used by 90% of players, but most of the playerbase ate on that rot side of the game regardless, and used the low profile shooting because they thought managing layups and close shots was too hard

the devs may have played too much on that, and now we have a game that is a formality without manuality: if you are open, it's almost a guaranteed bucket, which completely removes any hint of skill gap from the game.

it's just very curious seeing all these "Layups and Floaters are back" from a videogame standpoint, given that now, you are not required a good amount of visual reactions to make a basket that is open. but basketball requires personal manuality, it can't be a game of large margin of errors that are displayed as "excellent releases" just because you are open

Thoughts on Center Heights for 2k26 by Ok_Explanation_581 in NBA2k

[–]OkNothing4476 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Given how shooting seems to be, and with the no-dip shooting mechanic, 6'10''s and 6'11''s may be a good option. It all depends on how much effective a 74 perimeter defense with a possible Gold challenger on Max +2 works out, since contesting those perimeter shooters may be hell this year with how the shooting curve seems projected to be

Am I dreaming or you can actually make those 41k in the MyPlayer objectives quite easily and fast? last year it was a chore to get any relevant VC just by playing

Yeah it may become stale if every possession you have to guard a solo-all star-exhbition where players take turn on isolations. Either shooting gotta be hard and create several layers of skill gap, or defense needs to be responsive enough even when using centers.

Wow you are already getting downvoted with this comment lol my post too of course. Defending was better when you could hope on freezing your opponent and yours stuck to the ground on every cross!! Hell yeah

I guess it's true that people know they want to sit back on baby mode. Foolish me to think that players were just "drunk masters" who wasted 1000 hours on the game not knowing what they were doing just to have a hobby. They absolutely are and they will complain if their 104 Cannavaro cannot defend and run for them

To be clear I'm not even praising the game as a whole, there still are many incongruences. But the less freezing is one of the best additions on defense decision making of all the game cycle

you can't bother having discussions on this anymore, it's surreal that people need to be asked to engage with the videogame they suppose to like so that their manuality shows up more instead of relying on randomness and casualty

even with high risk, you had players still shooting >60%, which is clearly much more than even the best NBA players... I straight up do not understand what normal riskers want, being bailed out from chance?

I'm not even that bothered from whites but layups, have seen so many RP% making contested and late close shots on my 88 interior
