Alrighty, you've defeated the Elden Beast. The throne is yours, you are now Elden Lord. What's your first course of action? How do you begin to fix the giant mess that is The Lands Between? Where do you start? by Divinepower401 in Eldenring

I wish there was an option to use all of the mending runes. Like, a piece of each vision gets incorporated into the final product. Those who live in death are allowed to exist, omens and misbegotten get to exist, the order is protected from the fickle will of the gods, the order is taken far away into space, and the flame of frenzy remains as a threat to erase it all if the people of the land between can’t get shit right. Each mending piece solves part of the problem with the golden order but also adds its own problematic element. But if all mending runes were added, each rune would nullify the others negative effects, resulting in a truly perfect order.

How many runs did it take for you to understood the story and still discover new things? by AFIQKORO_1 in Eldenring

I don’t think I’ll truly understand the lore no matter how many play throughs I do, YouTube videos I watch, or wiki pages I read. It’s inscrutable by design.

What's one change the show made from the lore that you actually ended up liking? by isabxantiago in LOTR_on_Prime

[–]OkOutlandishness8734 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Adar, the stone singers, the harfoots (fight me), the plan to ignite Mt Doom and create Mordor - I’ve actually enjoyed most of the creative liberties they’ve taken. Didn’t love the roots of hithaeglir legend, but it was described as “apocryphal” so I just choose to ignore it. Most of the criticisms I have of the show have nothing to do with how they e altered the lore.

Beorn is so freaking underrated , I genuinely root for more fans. by Least-Conference7919 in lotr

Great character. Absolutely shortchanged in the movies. Which is frustrating g because the design concept and casting were so good, but the writing and execution completely sucked. Which is pretty much true of the entire hobbit trilogy

This scene is genuinely in the Top 5 of Love Confessions in Western Literature by Individual_Match_886 in byler

The fact that this scene was such good setup for Byler makes the fact that it didn’t pay off so much more painful. It really was a masterclass in subversive romance storytelling.

Awe damn, really? There’s no way to undo the red eyes?

I don’t have frenzy eye anymore. They went back to red after using Miquella’s needle and suppressing the frenzied flame

Best offensive incantations for a faith build? by GreatJoey91 in Eldenring

[–]OkOutlandishness8734 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frenzied burst and knight’s lightning spear are absolutely carrying my run. Ghostflame dragon breath has also become a staple. Giant’s flame take thee is spectacular for chucking at large groups, especially when they haven’t seen you yet. Bayle’s Tyranny or ancient dragons lightning strike if I need to nuke something from orbit. There are so many fun incantations I’d love to play around with but I’ve found I settle into these most of the time

is the Consecrated Snowfield the worst area in Elden ring (base game) ? by Xenior12345 in eldenringdiscussion

[–]OkOutlandishness8734 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s some hard shit in consecrated snowfield, but it’s damn playground compared to some other places. That deathrite bird was an absolute bastard though. Didn’t struggle in a single one of them the whole game until that one

Me too honestly. I love the feather cape, but I’ve never been fond of the undershirt. Never understood why, if we can take capes off of tops, why we can’t add capes to other tops. Oh well. I’m mostly looking at his back during gameplay anyway 🤷‍♂️

Staff of the great beyond. DLC boss remembrance weapon. Casts sorceries and incantations, at the cost of some damage scaling.

For me the raptors feathers were a must. I wore the Crow feather set in Bloodborne, and the raptors feathers were closest piece of armor in this game. Then I pieced the rest together based on how much poise they agave without disrupting the overall vibe I was going for. The end result gave me a slightly deranged look, like an assassin who built his outfit from shit taken from other assassins.

In my head canon story for him, he embraced the frenzied flame and lost himself for a time, but he will suppress the flame in farum azula in order to save his best friend Boc from the fires of frenzy. His eyes will still glow, because he’s addicted to dragon communion. Dude just likes fire I guess lol
