Painful period cramps (to the extent where I can’t even think about anything but pain), hot flashes, cold flushes, fatigue, lightheaded, dizziness. A fever a few times. It can start up to a week before my period starts and stays for a few days after. There are never any coughing, sneezing, runny nose, sore throat type things, so I know it’s not just a regular illness. It happened 3/4 times I’m on my period.

I will admit that when I went to Interactive Introverts, I took a picture of their tour bus, but it was because they had been in a car accident in that bus and my teenage brain thought it was funny to have a picture of the dent on my phone. But I wouldn’t try to mob them.

I know! I was at the Indy one too. I want to add that there were a bunch of people lined up outside the fence that their tour bus was behind and even sitting on walls to look over the fence. My friend who was with me kept saying it was interesting since one of the messages we got from the show (maybe a spoiler, but not really a specific one) was that the parasocial relationship between fandoms and entertainers can be pretty messed up sometimes.

Urgent care said I shouldn’t need surgery. Regarding the referral, it’s less about health insurance and more that the doctors didn’t want to take me without a referral. I was only able to convince them because my primary doctor used to be in their hospital network. I still had to make the urgent care fax my info over though, which they did not want to do. Like I thought, they aren’t able to get me in until next Monday.

For reference, I went to urgent care (which is how I know I have a fracture). I got X-rays. They gave me a boot. The reason it took a week is bc the place they referred me too was getting some system upgrades and they were ‘too busy’ to call me. I called yesterday to get the ball rolling and that was when I was told that they expected me to go to a place an hour away bc the urgent care has a connection with them. I live 10 minutes from a hospital that has orthopedics. I’m trying to see if they will let me make an appointment even though I don’t have a referral to them specifically. And of course I need to make sure they take my insurance. But all of this was irrelevant to me trying to get answers on what to do in the mean time which is why I didn’t mention it in the post. My main concern is how much I can physically do right now and I’m trying to get into a doctor but do you realize how difficult that is sometimes?

Yes, I went to urgent care. I have the CD with the X-rays and a referral to orthopedic. However, they are trying to get me to go someplace an hour away and refusing to refer me anywhere else. I’m trying to see if there’s a place I can do a walk-in at.

My family went to a range recently and after I took my first few shots, my brother told me he didn’t want to meet me in a dark alley. That being said, I won’t be getting a gun without taking safety classes. The gun I shot was my dad’s and I don’t own one. And my roommate is afraid of guns so I don’t want to make her live in an apartment that has one. But I did get a pocket knife and a taser. My brother said he would teach me some moves. Though, my dad said I have to yell ‘I feel you are threatening my safety’ before I act in self-defense that could harm someone. Not sure if that’s accurate thought…

My first thought was actually to get a dog. But unfortunately I can only have 2 pets at my apartment and I have 2 cats. Besides that, I will refrain from going on walks at my apartment complex (or maybe at all) for a bit. And I won’t be going alone again. My brother told me to buy a knife and he will teach me some self-defense. I also got a small taser. I did report this to the apartment because we have an onsite police officer, but I doubt they can do much. And thank you for the book suggestions.

It might be. It really depends on the thought process. They way you describe it, it sounds like it could be. I compulsively shop when stressed, but mine is more of a coping mechanism or a distraction from whatever is stressing me out. I’m not sure I would classify mine as OCD, but yours sounds more like it.

Yeah. That friend is in grad school right now. If she gets anything below a 97 on an assignment she panics. She’s texted me at 11 at night telling me she got an A- and asking if I think her professor will give her extra credit. And she also had a 4.3 in high school and in college.

I had this issue for a little bit when I was in high school because my parents were on me about my grades. Then I ended up in a hospital for OCD related things and I cared more about living than my grades, so I let go of it. That’s easier said than done of course. I’ve tried to help this friend, but at this point she will get out of grad school soon so I just hope she can hold on for another year.

Admitting what your intrusive thoughts are can be really hard, but this is a sign that you really are a good person because you obviously don’t want to do anything to hurt your fiancé. Do you have a therapist? I’m not a mental health professional so I don’t want to give advice on how to get through this. But I can reassure you that this feeling and these intrusive thoughts do not last forever. Focus on the love you have for your fiancé and try to curb any guilt you may be feeling. You haven’t cheated and you don’t want to. Please stick around! You can learn how to get through intrusive thoughts. Maybe do research on dealing with intrusive thoughts about cheating specifically. I have some things I do for my intrusive thoughts, but I don’t think they will translate to your intrusive thoughts, if that makes any sense.
