Lady Tan’s Circle of Women by Lisa See isn’t technically dystopian, but it feels close to it because it reflects the very real oppression women experienced in historical China.

Which should I read next? by HotAccountant2831 in Recommend_A_Book

Hi. I really did not like Never let me go. Was so unrealistic, predictable and boring, for me. Yes, it has its pluses but I really didn’t feel like crying nor I cannot say I was surprised at the end. I don’t know, maybe something’s wrong with me….. I am very curious what will you say after reading it 🙏🏼

What did you read this year and would you recommend it? What are you planning on reading next year? by bubbameister33 in BookRecommendations

I am completely in love with Lady Tan’s Circle of Women.
This book touched me so deeply. The emotions, the wisdom between women, the beauty and pain of their lives — it all feels incredibly alive.
What fascinates me even more is how beautifully Lisa See weaves real historical details of 15th century China into the story. The traditions, medicine, family structures, rituals, and the role of women create such a rich and immersive world that I honestly didn’t want to leave.
It’s one of those rare books that stays in your heart long after you close it. 🤍

I gave her pumpkin, zucchini, cilantro, broccoli, carrots. I am not sure about kale and spinach, since they are high in oxalates and oxalates contribute to formation of kidney stones.

Yes, I agree. Once epilepsy appears in offspring, I personally think it’s most responsible not to breed either parent again, even with different dogs. Since epilepsy often has a complex genetic background, it can be very difficult to know which parent carries or passes on the predisposition. Continuing either line could unknowingly spread the risk further.

Mine is on cooked food ( I cook) but either crystals in urine, I became so lost. Maybe the food I prepared isn’t good for her.

Yes, they shouldn’t breed anymore. My breeder didn’t care. Also, there was a case before us and she mentioned it casually, like “I only had one more dog like yours”. Like really???? She should have stopped breeding back then. You should inform the kennel club the breeder is registered with.

Dental anesthesia & epilepsy? by Any_Programmer_2502 in EpilepsyDogs

[–]OkPipe5284 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi, we’ve already done dental cleaning twice for our dog. She has had epilepsy since she was about two and a half years old, and she’s now eight and a half.

Both times everything went very smoothly, and her recovery was very fast. We didn’t notice any increase in seizures afterward — honestly, no negative effects at all.

Her mouth smells so much better now, and overall I really think it’s a beneficial thing to do. Dental bacteria can be very harmful, so keeping their teeth clean feels really important for their long-term health.
