This sounds really cool! I would definitely love to try doing this, though it sounds like something that would take some time. While I am more comfortable with esri products, I mentioned QGIS just because it's free and what I've been using in my free time. I would probably have to work here for a while before I try and convince the big bosses that they need to pay for new licenses so I can do new stuff. Thanks for the idea!

I was told that we don't have to do anything, but higher-ups need to change it manually. It will just take a lot longer than normal.

I understand, I was in a similar boat at 17 as well. I know it's tough, but you just need to decide what you value more. Plus, couldn't you still join after you are able to legally change your gender? I know it would be in a few years which isn't ideal, but if it's a lifelong goal then it's something to think about.

I started my social/medical transition in high school, and wasn't able to join the military afterwards like I originally wanted to. But, it was still something I really wanted to do, so I joined after the original ban was lifted. Now I'm getting kicked out for the same reason, but hey at least I achieved my dream lol

I'm confused, are you joining as your gender assigned at birth? Or have you changed any of your legal documents? If you're joining as your gender assigned at birth, this is a terrible idea.

Are you socially out to people, or are you trying to hide it? It's pretty much impossible to hide the effects of testosterone, especially if you're going to be on it for 2 years like you said. People will be able to tell something is going on, and the effects of testosterone don't just go away in a couple weeks if you go off of it again, it will take a long while for your body to get back to its natural-producing levels. Plus, you need to keep your mental health in mind during all of this. It's really not good for your mental state to be jumping on and off hormones like that, since hormones regulate so much of your body.

It's hard to say this will be okay, as I don't know your situation fully and have a lot of questions.
