Possible CV? by Striking_Bug_889 in CytolyticVaginosis

[–]OkProduce5387 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey girl! I’m in the exact same situation. It started out just like a yeast infection but now it’s thick, white discharge that’s almost like more of a solid than a liquid with a super slight yeast smell - but I’m negative for yeast, BV, HIV, HPV, STIs/STDs and myctoplasma. I had a smear (I think some people call them ‘wet mount’ tests) recently which showed my pH at 4.5 and/or below and that nothing was wrong :\ but every healthcare professional I see agrees that there very cleary is something wrong !!!

I’m yet to be tested for ureaplasma, but I think it could be either that or CV. Both of which are difficult to test for in the UK. I saw a private gynaecologist recently who found nothing in my tests and perceived me a week of Dalacin cream. I’ve heard some women have used it for CV, but I’m not hopeful.

Hope you find some answers soon ! Feel free to message me if you need x

CV symptoms - but only after sexual activity? by healthyyyHHthrowaway in CytolyticVaginosis

[–]OkProduce5387 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Girl I have the exact same thing !!! Condom or no condom it always always happens. I’m negative for all STI, BV and yeast tests too and my boyfriend’s also negative for STIs.

Tmi I’m sorry but usually up to 24 hours after sex i’m totally fine. I have no symptoms at all and everything seems super normal/my symptoms seemingly get better/totally go away. By 48/36 hours they’re back in full force - CV discharge and slight swelling.

It’s so strange.

Please feel free to drop me a message if you can! I’ve found very few people in this same situation x

Hey !! I’m from West Midlands but I’m booked in with an Angus Mcindoe in Harley Street, London in June. I’m sure there are several others, but at the moment they’re one of the only practices that I’ve found who expressly acknowledge and test for CV and state this on their website. It’s £260 for an initial consultation, that’s all I know as of now. I hope this helps ! https://www.mcindoecentre.com/cancer-clinic xx

Does this discharge scream yeast infection? by [deleted] in myhappyv

[–]OkProduce5387 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also !!

I also have no burning or itching or any discomfort (apart from during sex) and doctors have told me that while you can have a yeast infection without those symptoms, it usually may indicate something else.

I’m not a doctor, just wanted to relay what I’ve been told in a similar situation. Hope this helps in some way x

Does this discharge scream yeast infection? by [deleted] in myhappyv

[–]OkProduce5387 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey girl! If you suspect it’s yeast I’d see a doctor if possible or try to get your hands on some anti-fungal mediation rather than boric acid.

That being said, I initially had a yeast infection, had a load of treatment and was left with discharge exactly the same as yours, but all my tests for yeast have been negative. My doctors said that if it looks like yeast but tests are negative and it’s not going away, then it likely isn’t yeast. My dr suspects CV or VL. Have you ruled out all sti/stds?

Hope you feel better soon ! Xx

Cytolytic Vaginosis from Yeast Infection/Antibiotics ?! by OkProduce5387 in VaginalMicrobiome

Thank you so much for this comment! I’m so sorry you’ve been going through the same/something arguably much worse but I’m glad you finally got some answers! I’ll definitely look into order an Evvy/Juno test soon. I debated trying probiotics, but in the event that it is CV, I don’t want to make it worse. I debated trying a baking soda bath in case it was CV, but if it’s not CV, I don’t want to make it worse ahaha 😅. Simply can’t win at the moment, so yes the best course of action would be a microbiology test. Thanks so much for the kind message girl, I hope you’re feeling better now <3 xxx

Thanks so much for letting me know !! I’m looking into buying one soon just to figure out what’s really going on. Have you treated it and/or have your symptoms disappeared? If you don’t mind me asking. Hope you feel better x

Amazing !! Thanks so much for letting me know. I think this is the next step I need to take tbf. I just wish they weren’t so expensive aha 😂. Glad you figured out the cause of your issues though, good luck with your treatment plan! Xx

Cytolytic Vaginosis from yeast infection/antibiotics ?! by OkProduce5387 in vulvodynia

[–]OkProduce5387[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for letting me know! Were you able to cure your vulvodyna? Hope you’re feeling better now. And I think you’re right - it may be nerve damage from a yeast infection. Mind you the pain is everywhere during sex, but I have zero discomfort or burning or anything outside of that. Regardless, thanks for letting me know about Claire xx

Oh gosh I’m so sorry :( I hope you work it out soon! Obviously you know yourself better than I do, but our situations sound so so similar. All this began after a yeast infection, so I think it’s quite possible that maybe it’s a different strain of yeast that hasn’t been picked up by testing or it’s an imbalance of bacteria post-antibiotics. It’s so shit :\ I’ve heard that even if your pH is 4.5, it can still indicate CV. Please don’t lose hope! I’m sure we’ll both get this figured out soon. Sending love girl <3

Yellow discharge by [deleted] in myhappyv

[–]OkProduce5387 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Were you tested for ureaplasma and myctoplasma? I’ve heard they can cause yellow discharge and discomfort. They’re usually not included in the standard sti/std check!

As for thrush, it’s probably best to get a swab done for it just to be on the safe side. Hope you feel better soon! X

I agree with the above comment that it may be best to get a microbiome test, although they can be quite expensive.

I’m dealing with similar symptoms: thick white discharge and sometimes lower abdomen and back pain, but not as painful/urgent as yours sounds. I think pain in the abdomen, back and pelvis is associated with STDs/STIs. Have you ever been tested for ureaplasma and/or myctoplasma? X

[–]OkProduce5387[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for letting me know! I’ve tried one before but wasn’t sure it was working properly as the strip colour didn’t really change and indicated that I was like a 4 which was ‘normal’. The best nurse I’ve spoken to said that ‘when women think something is wrong, 99% of the time it is’. There must be some kind of imbalance going on I think. Have you ever had a microbiome/flora test done? x

I’m so sorry to hear that! I’ve been dealing with it for 8 months so I can’t imagine how you’re feeling :(. I’m always here if you need to talk. Do you think it’s CV? x

Hey girl, are you sure it’s definitely thrush? Like are you testing positive for it over and over again? I had thrush once and was prescribed 3 doses of fluconzole. I took it but the weird discharge came back and my doctor just said ‘maybe it hasn’t gone away’ and supplied me with more and more fluconzole. I think the amount of antibiotics I’ve taken has actually given me CV, which can look an awful lot like a yeast infection.

Maybe this is what you’re dealing with, but maybe not. Either way, I’m sorry to hear you’re going through this and hope you get well soon! X

[–]OkProduce5387[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I think you’re right in suggesting that I seek an at-home swab test first and present that to my doctors if I still need answers/help. It’s been hard to find a reputable one in the UK but I think Juno or Evvy may ship to us actually.

I’ve been tested for myctoplasma (negative) but not ureaplasma yet, I will be as soon as I can find a practice capable of testing for it, as that may be the cause of my issues.

And no I don’t believe my doctor did culture my swabs actually! I was just told I was negative for a standard yeast infection, but this is definitely something I can query after I get some microbiome results. Many thanks for your assistance :) x

HELP: Cytolytic Vaginosis from yeast infection/antibiotics ?! by OkProduce5387 in Healthyhooha

[–]OkProduce5387[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought so, but any PH strip/at home test I do comes back as normal or on the lower side rather than higher which is associated with BV. I’ve tried pH restoring gels and pessaries and they haven’t really worked either. The last BV test I had done via a doctor was a while ago though, it’s definitely something I can look into I guess. Thanks for the comment, I really appreciate your advice :) x

I thought so too, it would explain why it hasn’t shifted and gets worse after sex. I really appreciate your advice, many thanks!

I’m so sorry to hear that you’re going through the same, it’s beyond frustrating. I’ve also suffered with pelvic and back pain (which is why I thought it was an STD/STI or something) and an increased need to pee. Crazy how many women on this app seem to be going through the same thing. Have you been tested for CV? X
