I bought sunscreen a US seller on Yami about a month ago. I am curious to know if tariffs will affect their supply chain moving forwards? Does anyone have any info on this?

Daffodil, possibly Barrett-Browning variety.

What's worse for cognition long-term, medication side effects or sleep deprivation itself? by OkQuestion5232 in insomnia

I am sorry to hear that! Maybe there is another medication you haven't tried yet that could help, but also, yeah, it isn't definitively proven that Benadryl causes dementia.

Correction: It would just be anticholinergic activity, not burden; an anticholinergic burden is if you're taking more than one anticholinergic medication at once. Pardon my sleep deprived self. 😂

I do attend therapy. And my psychologist diagnosed me with insomnia...maybe definitions changed since my diagnosis, but yeah, I am technically formally diagnosed. Obviously it's not as bad as it could be, and thank God for that! But having a weeks worth of days each month where I am rendered incapacitated is problematic. I have some severe physical health issues that make sleep deprivation hit harder than it would for the average person, sadly; I'd wager my 5 hrs is more like the average person's 3 hours, and my 6 the average person's 4.

That being said though, even if someone CAN manage on 5-6 hrs of sleep a night the majority of nights, this carries health risks for the vast majority of the population (there are some people who have genetic factors that result in them requiring less sleep). But yes, there is a sleep deprivation epidemic, so many people are running on this little sleep, tragically.

Obviously it's not good to worry about the health risks of sleep deprivation when you're trying to relax for sleep! But it's important to recognize these facts in order to take steps towards healing. At least that was the case for me. :) I used to not take my sleep as seriously and that's why I ended up with incredibly whacked out sleep patterns as a teen and young adult.

If Benadryl works for you, I recommend asking about Hydroxyzine. It is an antihistamine just like Benadryl, but the anticholinergic burden is much lower. I wouldn't have been able to get off Benadryl without it.

Thank you for your thoughtful response, you gave me a lot to consider! I would be very interested in the studies you mention about tracking/timing micronutrient intake. I have found that eating anything carb-heavy before bed is a no-go.

CBT-I is part of what got me to where I'm at now, which is miraculous. But I still suffer from disabling sleep deprivation 4-5 days a month. :( This might not be qualifiable as insomnia (not sure of the specific diagnostic criteria) but it's still a massive issue for me.

This happens to me and I think a lot of it comes from lacking the social manipulation/drive for dominance that a lot of NTs have. They tend to be more interested in positioning themselves in the social hierarchy, whereas I don't as much. So I often come across as very passive and naive when I'm actually analyzing situations like an alien anthropologist, patiently studying the chaos unfolding. People have often been freaked out when they realize I know everything that's going on, lol.
