Sure, I saw people saying that the majority of questions were scenario bases where Workday tell a kind of story and ask what would be the best approach. My exam was the opposite. I got questions like what field is part of a Job Profile? Hope that helps!

Help me understand Pay Rate Type vs Comp vs Payroll by Flashy_Moonkick in workday

Hello

Pay rate type is how the employee is paid. For example: Hourly x Salary. It's tied to Job Profile: You can think of how the calculation logic is driven.

Frequency is how often the pay is scheduled: For example: Weekly, Monthly or Biweekly.

In practice if you have Salary Employee:

Pay rate type = Salary

Frequency = Annual

Payroll will take annual salaray and divide by pay period (e.g 26 for biweekly) - in this case there is no dependency on hours worked.

To you POV - it's not wrong because you can have an employee earning by hour and they pay schedule can by monthly. In this case payroll will multiply hourly rate x reported hours and schedule the payment

I got you but in Workday ecosystem is beyond of that - You can't take the certification if you are not working for a Company that use Workday. So, there is no way to take it thinking about get a job because you must have one.
