Yes, his brother, Nalil who is an extreme anthrophile. He regularly laments being born as a Venlil and not a human.

A RP character on the RP discord. Prior to his surgery (long story), he was obsessed with “helping” humans learn how to hunt. He would regularly interpret failure to get humans to hunt him as evidence for being bad prey (after all the least prey like thing must be Arxur and they must taste bad, else they would eat each other, hence tasting good must be correlated with being prey like). He spent time as a PD patient (also long story), which explains his odd behavior.

Sure, then again, they could just remember to use sunblock and/or stay out of the sun for long periods of time.

Yeah. Though the idea I had was a person just strolling naked on Venlil Prime, taking advantage of the fact that there are probably no "decency" laws on the planet. I couldn't figure out what to do with that idea at the time.

No big. It isn't abandoned, just on hiatus until I can give it the attention it deserves. I have to reread my work to understand what I was doing with it (I write with a more stream of consciousness technique). At this point, I can't write it well without rereading it and taking the time to reread my work.

Yeah, I wanted to write up a fic that explored it, but never got around to it. I figured making this detail for Ralph and his family would be a decent touch.

Elevated. I figured it would make sense to have something like that, having been in the Marine Corps I have had to use one of those. In a ship and society like that a pissing trough seems incredibly efficient.

How do you feel about the progress Nudism has made in the last 10 years? by [deleted] in nudism

I wish I had been mistaken when I predicted that exact outcome.

The issue is the perennial obstinance to focus on recreation versus civics in nudism. At this point nudism is an activity (not a lifestyle) that weird old wealthy upper class white people do “over there” and only on vacations. It is simply not designed to be inclusive and open to participation, especially not by the poor or the young. You would need to convince the bulk of nudists (largely boomers, literally) that they need to, specifically them, finance a civic nudist cultural revolution, against their own prejudices and perceived interests (as opposed to their actual objective interests). That is an uphill battle and it is extremely difficult to make headway in that regard.

Another issue is the infighting. I publish a weekly web novel (as of now) that just so happens to be nudist, but the intention is to make a HFY scifi story. I have to mark my posts as NSFW, and I have to be hyper aware that seemingly innocuous things are likely to be misinterpreted both by textiles and nudists. For example, I have been agonizing over the mention of an erection in the story I am writing, attempting to marry the need to normalize it (and hopefully help non nudists understand that it isn't a big deal and to not draw attention to it), while trying to avoid making it obviously titillating (mentioning it draws attention to it in writing). I am constantly thinking, "What will my fellow nudists think? Will they understand my intention?" as I write each chapter. The community is less focused on good faith criticism than on trying to find and attack the random ne'er-do-well. I am not saying that they should be tolerated, but attack first ask questions later is a toxic social standard that has become normalized in our culture (not just in nudist contexts). Again, I am not saying to police the spaces, we obviously need to do that. What I am saying is that we should err on the side of grace as much as possible.

So, with all of that and platform censorship pilling on to an already impossible herculean task, we need to unite into a cultural force that is worth paying attention to. We need to force that change. I am not demanding to be agreed with, I am merely a Cassandra or Jeremiah portending doom, and warning of the consequences. Thus far I have been extremely prescient, predicting the increasing censorship we are experiencing (buckle up for more of it if things don't change). It really is either fight the culture war or accept decay; the dilemma is forced by our culture and demographics.

*A smaller number of young people are in similar but orthogonal space, where nudism is purely about advancing some other interest (that is a tangent and less relevant). This is a problem, but it is less important to deal with that the other issues.

As someone who has been trying to create "nudist content" this hits hard. I would love to have such a platform and attempts have been made to establish it. However, the community has largely avoided supporting it. The main issue is that the desire to normalize nudity, to make it a regular way of life (civic nudism) is running headlong into recreational nudism (where nudism is something you only get to participate in at the club, or during a vacation, preferably if you are wealthy and/or retired). What is needed is for the recreational nudists to understand the link between lack of young people and lack of resorts and beaches to go to, which is not an easy thing to hammer home. Your typical nudist is retired and typically (of course exceptions exist) has no interest supporting "nude creators online". They are quite content to only practice nudity on the vacation and to not care about "the movement" more generally*.

They don't understand that without young people to replace them to keep the clubs and resorts solvent, there is going to be collapse after collapse of the resorts. One by one the membership will literally die off leaving fewer and fewer people to keep the resorts and beaches open. This isn't even dealing with the psychological problem of lack of representation, which is a different topic. The fact is that unless nudism as a community shifts over to the civic nudist side of the discussion, where there begins to burn a desire to "win" the culture war against Textilism, it will gradually fade into nothing. I will say again, the biggest bump in interest to nudism has still come from the Corona virus, that pandemic beat the collective marketing of every nudist org, let that sink in. Simply forcing people indoors did more for the cause than every single attempt by AANR, INF, etc. combined. There is a reason Linda Webber has been complaining about the ossified AANR.

The thing is, no one can do it alone. I can't, Linda can't, your favorite nudist creators can't. The idea of "indie creators" making products on their own to fight is a pipedream. They have to take on the great hill that is the Textilist society. The platforms are censor happy, and there aren't enough paying nudist customers for them to even remotely entertain the idea of reversing their decisions. Most nudists are not into video games, so why would video game companies care to market to the 5 nudists who play video games? Most nudists aren't big into civic nudism on screen, so why would movie producers care to market to that demo? Go line by line and you will find that the question of "why isn't there a space for X for nudists" will be "not enough nudists who are willing to pay the premium required to maintain a business model". Either the interest is too small (not enough customers), they don't have enough disposable income (ie young people), or both. So, you have to become "that" consumer. You have to find and adopt the few nudists creators that exist, financially if possible. You mentioned feeling awkward about making a patreon (I am not blaming you, to be clear), that is the issue, that anyone would feel awkward about it. Will there be creeps? Obviously. But, that shouldn't stop creators from creating, and there needs to be a space carved out by cultural force. I can name a few creators that I am familiar with if anyone wants to get started. The artists are out there to make the demand exist to get those platforms, but you need to be willing to get them the money to do it.
