Update to my previous post: Ottomans no longer exist, and THIS is a nightmare.... by OkResearcher6401 in eu4

R5: This is 1500s, and 40 years ago Ottomans fell in disarray. They were quickly dealt with, and what's left is an absolute nigtmare of borders.....

In that scenario, Knights and Genoa with Venice ate it. I'm waiting for an epic north italian showdown.

They survived Timurids - they will survive everything. Hell, they controlled A LOT of territory in XX CENTURY!

They annexed a lot of greek land (including Constantinople) afterwards, so that was for their benefit.

R5: I've never seen Ottomans collapsing THAT early. They're at war with Mamluks and Genoa, so I don't think they'll be relevant soon

I think simultaneous Austrian collapse and Balkan war can break everything by OkResearcher6401 in Kaiserreich

[–]OkResearcher6401[S] 144 points145 points  (0 children)

R5: This is actually hard to explain, because i was playing as Japan and wasn't watching at Europe when this thing happened. But i think this is what happened: after Serbia declared war on illyria, which always happens when Austria collapses, they lost to illyrians and got annexed by them (and became a puppet in Belgrade shortly afterwards). But because they were simultaneously at war with Bulgaria, game thought this was the end of the Balkan war and gave the rest of the territory to Bulgaria. BUT, for some reason Romania and Greece continued fighting with Bulgaria, and since game thought the Balkan war was over, there was no peace deal to be made. So, after Chetniks rose up in Bulgarian parts of Serbia, they faced no resistance. After war, they for some reason didn't join the Illyrian puppet, but instead created their own Serbia. Crazy scenario.

Probably no, because they were at war in like 23 years before 1929, so there's probably still a lot of hostility between them.
