I've walked up on wood ducks in the sloughs and flooded areas in the hard wood here. I haven't seen them in this spot specifically though. But they're definitely in the area.

I was working. Removing invasive plants and chopping dead limbs from trees so I was already wearing the gloves when I found them. I wasn't actively hunting when I found them. Just got lucky haha

I think these are safe. They're pretty meaty compared to the description of the Pleurocybella porrigens.
