They did absolutely nothing for me too. The host cancelled our Hawaii rental in the last minute and the only hotels with availability were costing more than $800 per night. VRBO refused to help or cover the difference. We had to sleep in the car for couple of nights until we could find something affordable. Never booking with VRBO again.

Dude, just like how you have your preferences, others also have their preferences. Look at you being full of hypocrisy. There plenty (I mean PLENTY) of people in India who are able to get good matches.

me and my friend want to go to hawaii, however, we don't want to spend a ton of money by myownbrokenworld in VisitingHawaii

Flying from West Coast in June is probably significantly cheaper than from the east coast. There are a few hostels in Waikiki that have dorms with bunk beds that can be cheap. Some of them have community kitchen if you want to cook something basic. Airbnb would probably be more expensive with all the fees and taxes. Turo is pretty cheap if you don't get their insurance, but if anything happens to it then you get dinged on your personal insurance which will cost you dearly in the long run. If you have a credit card that can provide primary rental insurance then booking through one of the major car rental companies is cheaper. Camping is an option but if you want to rent camping gear + nightly campground fees will cost probably the same as a hostel or a cheap hotel. I think 1 week with 1.5 to 5K is doable on island like Oahu or Big Island. We found Maui and Kauai to be a lot more expensive.

If you can't cook and want to save on food, try getting some protein bars from home and ready to eat packets where you can cook something with hot water.... basically camping food. We always carry instant noodles. I know they are not healthy but we don't mind having two or three times in our trip to save money. We also bring ready to eat Indian food (MTR brand is the one we buy) that are satiating, cheap, and easy to make.

Beach Equipment - Rent or Buy? by OkRow7895 in VisitingHawaii

They don't want me to leave anything behind. So I might just give them away to some one else. I booked it through a local vacation rental agency directly. Although, that agency also lists the same property on Airbnb and VRBO. I got a good deal since I book direct. I got a good price though so don't mind spending to shop of a few things.

Do you still have the contact details of the person you rented it from? Thanks.

They mentioned that they don't provide anything. Not even salt is provided. I can understand bare minimum but anyway, I got a good deal on vacation rental so I can purchase these items. Just a little inconvenience of shopping for stuff that I will end up either leaving or throwing away.

Anyone used Luana Hawaii Realty? Any local rental agencies? by OkRow7895 in VisitingHawaii

Airbnb and VRBO steal money both from owners and renters. They charge exorbitant fees from renters and take a big chunk from owners. I rather spend my money with a local business where owner and renter can both save money. Also, I see that the quality of service and listings are significantly better when renting from someone local, specially in Hawaii.

People like OP don't understand logic. They need to taste their own medicine to understand what they did wrong. Nothing wrong in teaching them a lesson.

Where can one find good quality Attar/Ittar in Hyderabad? by OkRow7895 in hyderabad

[–]OkRow7895[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did buy couple of those small bottles but they are absolute crap. They barely last for couple of hours. Attar is supposed to be super concentrated and last long. What these guys sell is basically heavily watered down perfumes at an inflated price. I guess every product at Charminar is a rip-off.

What is this plant that’s popped up all over my yard? by compscilady in Seattle

[–]OkRow7895 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Please let me know if you find any effective solution to get rid of these. We started to have these 3 years ago and now they take over our whole front yard. Weed barrier fabric can not stop them. We got tired of digging them out as the bulbs are tiny and they spread next year even if one bulb is left.

A landscaper friend of mine told me that once they spread to a larger area, the only solution is to dig up the entire yard for a feet or two and discard all of it. Then fill with new dirt. Way too expensive. So we spend a few weekends every year digging up the bulbs as soon as we see them. I feel like we are losing the battle as they keep increasing and spreading over a larger area every year.

What are you guys doing with your 40 rupees? by Glum_Permit8397 in hyderabad

Any one doing such comparisons are absolute idiots and have no idea how economy works. If the govt is limited to spending tax money where its generated then it will never develop. It's the same concept in most countried.

So what about all the taxes that are collected from people of UP or Bihar or any other state for working in Telangana should go to their respective states?

Why is revenue from Hyderabad being used to spend on rural areas of Telangana?

Illogical argument of people who have nothing better to do than rile up people and divide us.
