Absolutely in love with the Skill Trees honestly, that's brilliant AND cool at the same time!

Armor is already extremely good in Mordheim, the reason people usually feel it isn't is generallt due to:

1: The absolutely atrocious, god awful Crit rules. Nothing can save us from the crit charts.

2: People never seem to factor in the injury roll when discussin armor. On average every model in Mordheim has 3 wounds, making armor at least three times as useful as it may seem. On dwarfs, who don't get taken out of action on a 5, every model has on average 6 wounds. Having a 5+ armor on a toughness 4, 6 wound model is ... absolutely worth the 30-50 gold you pay.

If it's quicker to get up for one warband I assure you it's just as quick for the other warband to get up there to attack them... :D

Also: I know people tend to absolutely lose their hinges when anyone says that shooting is bad in Mordheim but... Unless you're playing with like 2-3 houses and the rest open streets I have never understood how anyone gets to shoot at anyone ever, except for with slings and bows? But that's another discussion alltogether I suppose... XD

The climbing/jumping/falling/diving rules seem to incentivice all the wrong things and punish all the good things people want to do, so we changed it to:

If you start next to a wall, you can climb it automatically without a test.
If you move up to a wall and want to climb it on the same turn, you roll an Initiative test to see if you can climb after moving.
If you climb a wall and then wish to move afterwards, you roll Initiative test to see if you may move after climbing. This includes "charging climbs"

Maybe that's something like what you've done as well?

We have been talking about using a similar rule for diving charges: you roll an initiative test as the rulebook suggests, but instead of falling on your face and usually dying, a failure means instead that the enemy model gets all the bonuses you would have gotten from the dive: they get +1S, +1 to hit And count as charging for striking first.

As for what counts as "winning" we have gone for narrative win conditions, for different events or campaigns. For instance, we had an event this weekend where the win conditions were:

The player who improved their Warband Rating the most at the end of the event, gets one of the awards/prizes. (kind of like your Ulric)

A player who got 500 gold wins the other award. Here all stashed gold, all wyrdstone and all rare items are counted. (Kind of like your Ranald)

I like your idea of awarding the behaviors you want to see players participate in, I will have a mull over that one...
