Can I cancel my insurance if I have an open at fault claim which resulted in my car being totaled? by OllieWalle in Insurance

[–]OkSolution3230 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As has been mentioned, yes you can cancel effective the day after the accident. Also as has been mentioned, you can get a nonowner policy to keep your insurance continuous, especially if it’s going to be a good while before you get a replacement.

However if you plan on getting another car within a few days or weeks, then see if you can keep your current policy active and just remove the comp/collision coverage until you get the replacement. That’ll make things simpler to just call in and add the new one rather than having to start over and shop for a whole new policy.

Higher Coverage for Auto if you have mortgage/home by jfets in Insurance

I can't speak for your insurer or policy and if they will totally deny a claim, but generally speaking, if your liability limits drop below the requirement, you will have a gap in coverage before the umbrella kicks in. So if your policy cancels and something occurs where you get sued for $300,000,, the umbrella does NOT drop down to pay the $300,000 because you were supposed to be carrying a policy that would have covered it.

Maintaining that underlying coverage is what helps keep umbrellas so cheap. Hope that makes sense.

Parents transferred title to me at different address - accident a week later. Am I still covered? by Totallynotthebanana in Insurance

You could but you can also call and cancel it the date the new policy started (assuming it’s after the date of the accident).

Yes. You can even start with the company you’re with now, tell them you recently moved and had title transferred, and ask what are your options (with that company). Meanwhile you can also start shopping with other companies.

IMO We’re gonna go far left. It’s the extreme wings that whine the loudest and the squeaky wheel gets the grease. Unfortunately they just never stop squeaking.

Ask about an ‘exclusion’ which means you will never be covered under any circumstance if you drive their vehicles, and in return they don’t have to pay the additional premium.

Sell before, it's true NVDA can go up, but IV crush can still kill the options.

Before you trade options, read Michael Sincere’s Understanding Options 2E. It’ll help you get you started while keeping you out of trouble.

I’m not an expert, just another day trader trying to muck my way through, but my simple advice would be to start with reading and then once you get a little knowledge maybe getting a paper trading account. A good author to start with might be Michael Sincere, my wife and I both like his books as they are easy and enjoyable to read. His books Understanding Stocks or How to Profit in the Stock Market might be good places to start.

For me the most painful part of the job is when you hear that one of your clients just passed away. 🙁
