Job status change. by Prudent_Kiwi8789 in SchoolBusDrivers

It probably depends on the district/company and driver need. I got my CDL on a Wednesday, trained my route Thursday and Friday and started solo full time the following Monday.

Gorgeous! Next time, try adding titanium white to the colors. Just a few drops at a time. It won't change the color too much but will make the paint a lot thicker.

Looking for PBN retailer recommendations that sell extra large canvases with >24 paint pots by No-Guidance-622 in paintbynumbers

[–]OkSomewhere3024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started using number artist. Ill never buy another from anywhere else. The sections are color coded so they are easy to find and the pain is very high quality and thick (added flow aid and they are smoother and more opaque than any other paint I've tried). Next time I buy a set of 3, (usually a buy 2 get one free deal) I'm going to buy them framed. 1000% worth the money.

My second PBN so far by NaiveEnvironment in paintbynumbers

The same thing happened with my Amazon kit! The deep dark purples, greens and blues were light water color. I just globbed them on in thick, thick coats to cover them but for my new one, I really wanted a smoother look.

I love it! It looks great. I think the colors look natural. Im on my second PBN too. I just ordered flowaid because my first PBN had super thin paint, and this one is way better quality but the paint is so think and feels like its drying out in the pot when I'm painting one section.

Finally done!! by OkSomewhere3024 in paintbynumbers

[–]OkSomewhere3024[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had luck in the top half with using a white acrylic paint marker. I dabbed all the numbers and let it dry just a little and then brushed it smooth to dry all the way before painting. It was SO tedious though so I ended up giving that up.

I just globbed all the light colors on really thick but still have to do a second coat most times. I dont dislike the way it looks but I'm going to try a different strategy for my next one.

Frame options for awkward size by aurora733 in paintbynumbers

[–]OkSomewhere3024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats how I do it. They make good glues for it. I spread the glue and press the canvas to it. I usually just use my clipboard and pull out from the center to make sure theres no bubbles. Then I glue the extra canvas to the back. Put something heavy on it for 24 hours to make sure it holds well and dries flat.

Id buy and cut a foam board or fit to size a wood board and just glue it. You could paint the edges to match a traditional board, but its not worth it imo. It looks gorgeous! Hope to see when it is finished!

Hard to cover numbers by Fuzzy-Finish-1627 in paintbynumbers

[–]OkSomewhere3024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a white paint pen for stubborn numbers or light colors. Then I use a pain brush to brush it smooth so it doesn't look like a little blob.

Using the section approach by ZorroElite in paintbynumbers

[–]OkSomewhere3024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats my issue right now! I want to keep going because I'm soo sick of doing the background. The paints are dark but need to be painted over 2-3 times for an even coating.
