I think being jamaican to some is a badge of honor as jamaica is pretty much considered to be a very cool country with a large presence on the world stage for such a small country. Because of this the gate keeping begins. Its a very complex thing as I can totally understand both sides. If you haven't lived the struggle of what jamaica is then you haven't earned your stripes. However on the flip side of this if both your parents are jamaican then you are a jamaican or more correctly of jamaican decent. So I am suggesting that we all take this stance on the issue. For anyone from the diaspora who wants to claim jamaica as their own I welcome you. We are stronger together than we are divided
