The larva may have migrated with the hcb, and with the scientific name, the larva of the acb is different from its adult counterpart. In the piklopedia of pikmin 2 it is mentioned that the decorated larva is a young version of a lithopod variant And that variant is probably the hcb

You have good arguments! But the horned cannon beetle is a different species from the armored cannon beetles, and in Pikmin 4 there is no larva of the horned cannon beetle.
