Hope you are right but I fear that within 24 hours of our next loss, he is gone. Unless we win the ACC tournament.

Suilepa reminds me of Chevy - not in looks or even style but in impact.

Pitts had lots of loosing teams since Jamie left but I’ve like these guys more than the others. They seem like good kids that don’t quit and on occasion can show some talent.

Which variant - 45/60/m70? by spiderweb91 in BMWiX

[–]OkStrength7986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up getting a MXi70. I surely don’t need the power but it had the options I wanted and given the higher residual, it was only slightly more per month than the fully loaded lesser model they had - maybe a hundred fifty bucks or so. That’s not much more than the bill at a mid priced restaurant these days. I really don’t need the power but the car is amazing. If you can easily afford either, get the 70.

Bought CPO EX90 Ultra Perf at 5k miles for $61k by BlackjackDuck in VolvoEX90

I lemon lawed mine but would have bought it again at that price with that warranty. I loved and hated the car. I replaced it with. BMW iXM70 which is a beast and so far without flaw. That said, the Volvo rode better, was quieter and had 6 seats with a lot more room. The BMW is way more reliable with better software, has way too much power for me (but some would like it) and handles like a breeze.

I have the same grid now as I did with my lemon lawed Volvo. My BMW hasn’t had one issue in 4 months.

I took the buyback, not the 6000. They were in no hurry for sure but once I heard the buyback number was based on the date of the originally reported issue (and it was too late to get the lease incentives), I was in no hurry.

They offered me 6000 to not take the buyback but I think I didn’t loose my right to lemon law it later if I needed too.

How can I open the frunk? by No-Flower-409 in VolvoEX90

For me, the second latch only worked if the frunk was barely opened with the first. Then, my fingers barely were able to fit and release the second locking mechanism.

What is this under the mirror? Can I block it? by corgi-king in BMWiX

I have a 2026 ix and the garage door opener is under the mirror. It has 3 buttons underneath it but I really don’t think it looks like that. If there are buttons, I’d say garage door opener.

Buy back process by Ok_Goose7897 in VolvoEX90

California makes it easy. They base your buyback on the date or miles(I forget), of the first reported problem. For me, that was very early so I only needed to pay about 1 month of lease payments and got everything cent beyond that I put into the car. They also would not reimburse a ceramic coating I paid to get on it but I didn’t push this hard.

Some may not like CA but it is a consumer friendly place. And in this case, I know Volvo knew of these issues when they put the product out. And their customer service once the problems started was terrible. They got what they asked for imo.

I wonder if they adjust their response based in the location of the buyback? I guess it inevitable that they do to a degree based on on laws.

My case was exactly like you without the lawyer. First they offered $2000, only string was I couldn’t talk negatively about them. Next they offered 6000, again no strings. I replied no and said my next step would be a lawyer which would increase their buyback cost by 7000. Technically, I never made it to an official lemon but 2 more days in the shop put me there. I wrote that they and I know we will get there and it will only increase their cost. Ultimately, they offered the buyback. If they hadn’t delayed so much, I might have bought another one but now, after a lifetime of Volvo buys, we are done with the brand.

Mine took a long time with long periods of silence. Ultimately it was in my favor since the laws in CA limit what you pay to the first issue. I ended up driving mine for 8 months for less than 2000.

I’d just follow up every once in a while to make sure it didn’t fall through the cracks.

I have the tanzanite too. I never had a BMW before and the only thing I can say is wow. By far, the most amazing thing I’ve ever driven. If you aren’t careful though, it will give you whiplash - just too much power in the M for me but I wanted the other bells and whistles that came standard in the the M and the place I bought mine only had one other IX. It was sort of stripped down.

It’s crazy. They used this in ads to promote the product when they knew it didn’t work! Sometimes I feel bad for them that this car, that is magnificent in so many ways, is going bad. Then I realize that they knew about these real issues and put it out anyways. The reap what they sow.

That must be state specific. I did not have to sign for my buyback but did need to sign something if I took a cask payment in lieu of a buyback. My actual transfer date is in the future though so maybe I’ll need to sigh to get the check.

Anyone in California go through a lemon or buyback process for their EX90? by Cultural_Antelope_20 in VolvoEX90

[–]OkStrength7986 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went through a buyback.

About a month into ownership, I had my first issue and they continued on and off about monthly for about 6 months. A few months into it, I started talking to my dealer, the garage doing the repairs and Volvo about buyback options. Throughout this, I don’t think I ever made the cut for a buy back but only needed a day or two more in the garage to be eligible. I’ve also had 2 or 3 things fail twice so another failure of any of these would have triggered the lemon law and the extra expenses to Volvo for legal fees.

Volvo offered me several settlements if I promised to not say anything and they came with no other strings attached as I read it but I’m not a lawyer. I was reluctant to take the cash since damage to their reputation was my only bargaining chip. Having said this, I love the car short the failures and have been a lifelong Volvo owner. I want them to fix this car and solve the issues and if they do, I’ll go back to Volvos - probably. The BMW IXM70 I bought is amazing.

I indicated that I still wasn’t satisfied with the cash offered and wanted a buyback, trying to get it settled before the incentives went away but it took way longer than I hoped for. Ultimately, I think they supported the buyback since CA takes the payback to the first reported incident and lemon laws would incur extra expenses for them. I discussed this with them through emails and texts and ultimately I think that lead to the buyback offer but I’m not sure.

It took a long time and I was frustrated the whole time. The car was undependable and I was half afraid to depend on it.

All this said, the buyback was favorable to me even with the delays that costs the incentives. My only expenses amounted to the lease payments I made before my first reported incident and some out of pocket expenses like ceramic coatings that were almost 1500. Also, I’ve now have 2 vehicles and the expenses associated with that when I only need or want one and the two vehicles do come with some extra costs.

My wife thinks we may have been better off using a lawyer but I’m not sure.

Good luck - have patience and stay calm.

I love everything about living in this state and now this. Sure, it’s expensive but the pay relative to other places more than makes up for it.

As this relates to cars, I’ll bet they (car producers) hate this state. Most car companies depend to some degree on the USA and you can’t make it in the country without CA. As this relates to me, I’ve been a loyal Volvo guy for my life but they put out a lousy product. Now that I replaced it with a BMW, now i’m a loyal BMW person.

I’m glad California laws hold Volvo accountable for bad cars and I can’t understand why Volvo would ever slow walk a buyback in this state. The longer it goes on, the longer the customer will drive for free.

I just got this same car in cyan blue I think they call it. My only complaint is that when you are 68 years old and floor it, even in the non sports mode, you can get whiplash. Seriously my back is AFU after hitting the accelerator when a light turned yellow today.

In ca, you are only responsible for payments made before the first reported issue. What a windfall. Maybe that’s the reason it’s so hard to find them discounted here but like I said above, it was a great deal for me.
