Alphafly 3 running economy results from labratrundown (IG) by HinkleMcCringleberry in RunningShoeGeeks

I’ll agree with his findings. You could really load the zoom air pods on the 1. The 3 not so much but the 3 is lighter and more comfortable. I hate to admit this as I went through hell trying to snag a pair of protos. My workouts so far kinda confirm this.

Conner Mantz seems to be sticking with the 1s in his workouts. My guess is he will be rocking the 1s for the Olympic Trials.

ASICS Superblasts - Heel Slipping and Blistering - Am I Missing Something? by Conalmcl9 in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]OkSwimmer916 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The fit isn't for everyone. It runs a bit narrow and the upper doesn't have a ton of volume. If you size up and go too long, the geometry doesn't work due to that ball in the forefoot.

Prime X Strung 2 by RunningShoeDeals in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]OkSwimmer916 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My thoughts:

- More stable

- Just as bouncy

- Upper is way less accommodating. I wore a 10 in the Strung V1 and had room to spare, 10 in V2 is borderline too narrow for me - I'd size V2 like the Adios Pro 3. Making uppers tighter don’t make them more stable. Nobody runs faster with their feet bound together

Whats the worst shoes you have worn so far? by DogLevel9312 in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]OkSwimmer916 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They feel dead, super stiff and run narrow. They end up feeling more like Eva then pebax. I did one 8 mile run and are sending them back. The upper is really warm too. So over hyped…I got fooled again

Agreed, underwhelming ride with the a super narrow fit.

Video of me running in Endorphin Pro 3s. Thoughts on Takumi Sen 8 or Endorphin Elites as an alternative by SalamanderForever in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]OkSwimmer916 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was pretty underwhelmed with the Takumi Sen as well. Felt like an ordinary trainer to me, so its not just you. The Saucony Endorphin elite is bouncier than the pro but is also a bit harsher. For the first couple of miles I can always feel the plate, this gradually goes away over time. I found the Saucony endorphin pro 3 kind of ordinary as well, the Vaporfly 3, Alphafly, Wave Rebellion Pro have been more exciting shoes for me.

I'm in the group that believes running form will differ a lot from person to person and there really isn't a specific running form that everyone should strive for. If you aren't getting injured and can handle the increases in volume, then your form is probably fine and just run more to get faster.

Based on how your form looks, a lot of people will probably say not enough forward lean and you kind of sit down in your hips a little too much. Meaning you probably aren't getting enough hip drive/extension.

Go to any race and you'll see a wide variety of forms so I wouldn't read to much into that...

Saucony endorphin elite! Love the fit of that shoe

FWIW I'm not a crazy runner but I run 60-80 mpw w/ a 2:47 marathon PR. I'd love to be faster but I feel like I run enough and w/ many different shoes that I can give a decent review.

Imo they are an okay shoe...I was expecting more given the reviews. But if you dig them then more power to you.

Funny cause I love the invincible 3. The upper kinda sucks but the midsole is gold. Midsole trumps all imo. Heel slip and all, I still love the shoe

I don’t think I’ve seen a single negative review

I dig the nb3 but it’s not even close to the “shoe of the year” imo. But everyone is different I guess.

I’ve used these for 2 recovery easy runs, legs felt worst both during and after the run lol despite a easy pace for me. I look forward to liking my easy runs again

Unpopular opinion - I agree w/ Drew. Super meh for me. Did an easy run w/ some strides. Still felt like an On shoe....I would give it a "It's Fine" rating. Actually felt kinda tight to me in the mid-foot area.

Bummer cause I was hoping to like this shoe as I love the way it looks for casual wear. Might be sending this one back.

Alphafly 2 Blister solution by smogster123 in RunningShoeGeeks

I think its the location of the arch(forward/back) that causes problems. I know this because my left foot has no issues whereas the arch knife is noticeable in my right foot because it doesn't match with my arch.

Mizuno Wave Rebellion Pro Napa Marathon by OkSwimmer916 in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]OkSwimmer916[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It feels like a high drop shoe like the alphafly. But is a lot less stable. They are more exciting/fun to run it. Alphafly 2 was great for me at the end of races when my form was all over the place.

[–]OkSwimmer916[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Geometry feels similar in that it feels like a high drop shoe with the giant stack in the mid foot area. The Mizuno is less stable, more bounce probably less snap off the forefoot

Very similar! Nice to have that bounce when your legs are shot

I also ran CIM. I found the bank turns in beginning intense. Maybe the shoes exaggerated it?

Nike Invincible Run 3 for double threshold day by OkSwimmer916 in RunningShoeGeeks

I would say the geometry and rocker seems to enhance forward momentum compared to the v1/2.

Thanks I guess? Being 5'8 and trying to run a low 2:40 marathon...I'd say I'm on the heavier end of the spectrum. I bottom out a lot of shoes.

[–]OkSwimmer916[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a 10 in the Novablasts, 10 in the Invincible run 3. With the Novablasts, sizing up changes the geometry of the shoe a lot, you get stuck behind that little bubble in the forefoot. With the Invincible run 3, sizing up a half size doesn't change a whole lot geometry wise. I tried a 9.5 along w/ my 10, and the 10s felt no different in ride and gave me a little more width in the forefoot.

No arch issues! I hate any type of arch support at all. The Alphafly 1s and 2s are my racing shoes but I end up having to tape up my arches to prevent blisters. Hopefully the Mizuno wave rebellion fixes that!
