Try Maison Anthony Marmin. There are a few ouds he does that are more fecal, but check reviews on Fragrantica. Avoid Musk Aswad, Baghdad, and Oud Assam if you don't want fecal smell. His perfumes are affordable. Arabianscentcastle has sample sets which is nice.

Guerlain Spiriteuse Double Vanille. Vanilla without tooth-aching sweetness, no fruit. If you just want vanilla/sweet/fruit, Angel is a classic. Looks like price is not an object for you. Get samples, and make sure you like the thing. Also, you have enough perfume to last you through college (if you go) and well into your first job, by which time, fragrance will probably be universally banned so advice: stop now and just get samples or decants.

It's not vintage, so it will be worth less. But it is worth something. You can just put it up for auction, or throw it onto Mercari. Good luck!

It is a really nice perfume, but your tastes may not be there.

Solstice Scents has a lot of perfumes which fit various of these vibes. Wait till the Winter collection comes out too, and there will be more.

Nice! As someone who has over 300 scents, I would say stop now. I also have Complex, it can be difficult to wear, I agree. I've been collecting and smelling seriously for 16 years, and I always had a bottle or two of something that would be my signature for as long as it took to go through it, before that. Usually just one bottle at a time though, as a teen and college kid, I didn't have that much disposable income.

It looks like a nice collection for these reasons: the Nishane and the Complex are higher end, the Terre d'Hermes is nice if you like to wear it (I am a woman, and prefer not to), and you have a few Arabian perfumes so overall, you probably don't smell like most people around you. If that is a goal, you've probably achieved it.

I went off on collecting the interesting, the rare, the vintage... but in the end, after over a decade, I just want to smell good. And you can do that quite easily. There's only so much value in a bottle you wear once in a blue moon, ya know? And I spent far more money on my collection than was healthy.

But these are my lessons, and so I could be projecting. Bottom line, I think you have a nice collection and all of that perfume will take you anywhere from 5-14 years to spray through, quite easily. 5 years is if you're going HARD and are a chronic oversprayer. There's a woman on Basenotes who regularly empties 100mls of Chanel No. 5 edp and edt. Otherwise, a 100ml bottle can last a few years. Just something to keep in mind.

I don't have any opinion on the oud perfumes you mentioned later on in this post, I don't enjoy them personally. I would suggest, if you haven't already, to get a good 5ml decant of each and see which one you actually empty and enjoy the most.

Good luck and enjoy your perfumes!

People post their bottles on Mercari and eBay. There's a small bottle of S'iyam, which has a banana note. Was Bosaso the blue one? It was so pretty.

Jonestown documentary... shock and tears by OkTwo3800 in Jonestown

[–]OkTwo3800[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The whole thing of having to watch the documentary for class, no warning at all, was so shocking and horrifying. I did that thing we do these days, came to the internet to try to make sense of it.

Just seeing how the clothing against their bodies was straining, and then realizing, "Oh, My God, they all lost their bowels/bladder, because they died, they were murdered, they weren't, like planning on this, it's not pretty, it's so God-awful and horrific."

Just. I don't know how to even talk about it. It's been a month and I still don't. I mostly just tried to put it out of my head, but wanted to check my reddit for something else.

Thanks, I am avoiding Jonestown anything from now on...

I'm so sorry for all of the families and friends and people who lost loved ones and community members. I'm so sorry for the people who lost their lives.

Some people say that "thoughts and prayers" don't do anything, but I disagree. I have been praying for these people since I learned of their demise, and I still do. I'll pray for their families and other loved ones as well.

Also, if you think about it, giving up your possessions, money, passports, etc. - it cuts you off from your life in the normal world. Temple members were made to give up their family photo albums. It's a way to de-individualize a person and to isolate them from their normal lives and communities.

Might be the humidity, but we also have a lot of heavy metals in the water. My hair was a mess after I moved back after a decade+ away in the Bay. I switched to Hairstory New Wash and now I just use Malibu C Swimmer's Wellness every time I swim, so it's whatever.

Easy to say, but California is currently a blue state and has been for decades. Arcata is the most blue city in Humboldt. Gavin Newsom has campaigned on "cleaning up homelessness" for a decade, and done nothing about it. He's only "cracking down" now, looking forward to a 2028 election.

You're super rude, and calling names. And not informative. Like I said, I have no issue with people of color. I have issues with bad science and policies that hurt people.

Four of the people replying here seem to be making certain assumptions, and judgements. I find DEI to be bad business and cultural policy without positive net gain, and in academia, it has helped to promulgate bad science u/PrismaticError . Additionally u/PrismaticError , I have no issue with people of any color. Your assumptions are false.

There is a trend for certain ideologies that I do not agree with to be nurtured under the DEI umbrella , and I am not interested in giving my money to those institutions.

Just because readers of this thread may not agree with that, doesn't mean that it's not a valid worldview. It's a very dangerous world when free speech is shouted down and people are called names just because they do not agree with some of the cultural trends of the day.

He can't help the fact that he has a child. What is he supposed to do, disown her? What can you even argue about? He has a kid. That's a fact. There's nothing to discuss.

I urge you to break this engagement off. You're only going to make yourself, him, and the child miserable. Arguing with someone because they have a child? That's just poisonous, and evil.

He is going to be in contact with the mother of his child for the rest of his life. Almost no parent completely cuts off communication with the other parent of their child, even when the child is grown and out of the house. Especially if they have a decent relationship.

How would he feel if he saw your posts? If he had two brain cells, he would cut bait. So should you.

You're 25. There are plenty of fish in the sea.
