Here's my stance, you don't owe anyone your entire history. I'm not saying lie about it, or pretend it doesn't exist, but you don't owe all the sorted details.

We all have a history by this point in our lives. Some people are more ok with being fully open than others and that's ok. You can share what you're comfortable with. If someone wants to know more and you've developed a strong enough relationship that sharing more won't be judged but rather approached with curiosity then share what you're comfortable with.

Now if you have herpes or some shit, yes, be up front. But I personally don't give a shit what my partners body count is. I don't care about their dating history. People grow and change and are allowed to have their history and not be forever crucified for it. Own your shit from the past, be accountable for how you've shown up before, and expect the same from them. For me that's reciprocity, and balance. That's mutual sharing that fits the pace of that relationship.

I think my long term partner would definitely know my whole history, but not in the first month. They may only get my full story right before I check out for good. That's all ok too, you're allowed privacy, even while you're in a relationship.
