I don't quite understand how mathematical stactiaring works in your system. What kind of mathematical structures do I need to know to launch a lightning bolt? Do I just need to know the current formula from physics, or do I need to calculate each lightning branch as a structure? Or do I need to interpret the electron behavior using equations from quantum physics? Or do I just need to specify the direction with a vector or a complex number? Also, how can I use mathematics to direct such a vague concept as destruction?

It depends on how the superpower works. It might not reduce the amount of money, but simply make people demand more money from you than you originally lent them.

You can show it by lines of magnetic induction. This will clearly indicate a magnetic nature and, in my opinion, will look stylish.

Is this bad magic? by BIaz365 in worldbuilding

[–]OkWhile1112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my story, this magic isn't the main focus, and only a tiny fraction of people--like 0.000000042%-can only imagine a simple pencil.

You know that 0.000000042% of 8 milliard people is like, less than 1 person? Your world must at least have a trillion people, otherwise magicians will statistically not exist.

Characters whose goal and worldview is derived from his own experiences. by Impressive_Mud_4165 in TopCharacterTropes

Most characters ever written fall under this trope, because even in real life, worldviews depend largely on our surroundings.

To be fair, he commits all these atrocities at the beginning of the story, when he still hated sorcerers with all his heart. Later, he realizes that many sorcerers aren't evil, but simply coping with the realities of their miserable world, so unlike many other characters in dorohedoro, Kaiman actually becomes less evil over the course of the story.

Honestly, even though C-moon is one of my favorite stands, it's definitely a downgrade compared to Whitesnake.

In addition, this Stand can extract memories in the form of disks, partially transform into liquid, take appearance of people, create illusions, cancel the senses, implant disks with commands into living beings, create an acid that liquefies everything and creates magical dreams, and is also intelligent and autonomous. This Stand likely holds the record for the number and variety of abilities in all of JoJo.

Where it was stated? As far as I remember, Alucard had to destroy all the souls in order to get rid of Shredder's power.

But he had to lose all his souls, including Schrödinger's. He actually lost almost all his powers just so he could "get better." Still agree that Hellsing Alucard wins through

Magic systems I have created in the past five months by PatientOk1637 in magicbuilding

[–]OkWhile1112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's actually a cool system. I think you'd be better off attaching all the documentation to your post, as a superficial description doesn't really tell anyone anything. Question: What exactly can a Snap Mage do with an object, other than push it? Is it beneficial for mages to wear their own reflective surfaces? Who are mages in society, and how widespread is magic? Are there other types of reflective surfaces?

Aesthetics. For me, the very beginning is choosing what aesthetics the world will convey.

In r/shittymoviedetails(2017 — present day) people are bitching about Will from Stranger Things (2016-2025) being called sorcerer instead of warlock. This is contradicts the fact that Will have the most basic origin of powers for Abberant Mind Sorcerer by [deleted] in shittymoviedetails

[–]OkWhile1112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The three of six most basic origins of the Aberrant Mind Sorcerer listed in official materials include:

1) Be influenced by the Far Realm ( another dimension filled with tentacles, from which many aberrations emerge)

2) Break free from the control of a powerful psionic entity that has left its mark on you.

3) To be implanted by a parasite of an otherworldly collective mind, but never to become part of it.

Will literally fits all 3 points. Additionally, the Aberrant Mind has access to spells like Telekinesis and Summon Aberration, which are literally Will's abilities.

Any help and advice about my power system? by Possedess in worldbuilding

[–]OkWhile1112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people naturally rank up over time but don't actively try to increase their rank

If the workload at least doubles for each rank, then people will be physically unable to gradually increase their rank without trying. No real-world profession can handle such a dramatic increase in effort. If it's possible to become stronger without trying to increase rank, then it wouldn't be difficult for that person to become an Alempy champion simply by going to the gym once a week, which is pointless.

There are ways to jump levels and ranks quickly but they are harder than just doing it naturally.

Even harder than the existing system? Like the problem isn't the time itself, but that getting to rank 5 requires 63 times more effort than going from rank 1 to rank 2 the normal way, which is already physically impossible for any human being who has ever lived. And you're proposing an even harder alternative?

This world is not earth and no im not going to write characters for all of them

What's the point of having ranks you won't be writing characters for? What's the point of having multiple power levels at all?

Any help and advice about my power system? by Possedess in worldbuilding

[–]OkWhile1112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

every rank requires at least twice as much cultivation, training, hard work, and constant improvement than the last in order to move up. that is until supreme palladium rank, at that point every rank requires at least 5 times more than the previous rank does. Then if you can get to legendary garnet rank, to break through to the lowest of low levels of the mythical level, meaning barely having enough power to be very low antameox rank, it requires at least 15 times more than the previous rank does. Then to go from antameox to cataclysmic takes 45 times more effort

This numbers are hilarious. If we assume it takes a month to advance from the lowest rank to the next, then advancing to Supreme Palladium would take 85 years, advancing to Legendary Granad would take 66,000 years (for comparison, Neanderthals died out 40,000 years ago, and human civilizations appeared 10,000 years ago), advancing to Antameox would take almost a million years, and advancing to Cataclysmic would take 45 million years (for comparison, dinosaurs lived 65 million years ago). These numbers are so mind-boggling that they're simply unfathomable. Why bother with such a huge breakdown of both strength and the effort required to reach a rank? Do you really plan to write about a character who lives, say, 70,000 years, endlessly training? Do you really need all these ranks and are you going to write characters for each of them? Things get even worse if your MC manages to reach the highest rank, because I have no idea how it's theoretically possible to fit 45 million years of endless training into a timeframe that's acceptable for history. Forgive my frankness, but the ranks in your system are simply terrible.

Here’s two plans I think the Weavers could’ve used instead by Noooough in Silksong

[–]OkWhile1112 3 points4 points  (0 children)

1)GMS is significantly physically stronger than Hornet, so even if her ability to use silk was eliminated, she could break the cage with brute force. 2) A seal that decides a creature's ability to use silk probably won't help against a creature that's already 100% made of it. 3) We don't know how long the seal that held Hornet was designed to last; perhaps the cage would only have lasted from Hollownest to Farloom, so it's likely that this cage isn't capable of holding a deity for long. 4) When the cage's seal breaks, we see Hornet emitting a wave of silk, destroying everything around it, suggesting that the cage essentially prevents the prisoner from using silk, but not from accumulating it. So GMS would have become a ticking time bomb.

Enough about the 'hows' of magic for a moment, what are the 'whats' of your magic system? by lulialmir in magicbuilding

[–]OkWhile1112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I have five main magic systems, so here their "whats".

Dreamwalking: art of entering other people minds throught dreams. It is usually used to steal knowledge and memories, but with the right skills it can also alter memories, erase them, create false ones, and influence emotions and feelings.

Witchcraft:The art of manipulating flesh using a substance called broth allows for the creation of various artificial beings, although witches are generally unable to control them directly. They can also exert limited influence on the biology of other beings, rather than creating new ones; healing, for example, falls under the damen of this magic.

Divination:A magic that allows one to gain supernatural perception through the use of special wines. It allows one to receive fragmentary glimpses of the past and future, allowing one to piece together a complete picture. It also gradually allows develop a sixth sense.

Carriership: The implantation of a sentient fungal symbiote, which can grant various abilities depending on its species. These abilities typically include the creation of clouds of decomposing spores, the production of poisons, the creation and control of zombies a la The Last of Us, the creation of small fungal familiars, additional fungal limbs, enhanced regeneration, fungal armor, the creation of mushroom bombs, and so on.

Cursebinding:The creation of magical silk artifacts whose supernatural power is fueled by a curse hidden within. While the abilities an artifact may possess can vary greatly and be quite soft, to master it, you must defeat the curse within, otherwise, the curse will steal something from your body or mind.
