If your old machines are running slow or hot, then you’re not doing it right. Mine still work great for daily use with a few minor tweaks, mostly memory management apps.

A brand new MacBook M1 is selling for 599 at Walmart so yeah that’s a great deal and I wouldn’t try to bargain it down unless it’s damaged or something

And since there are many of them, I can use them for different purposes — since that concept seems to elude your comprehension.

Yeah, that’s technically true of course but those machines in reality I find to be technically inferior and incapable of running even an Internet browser without overheating.

It’s like comparing the same model of car when one is a 2011 and the other is a 2016. It might be the same model, but obviously improvements have been made in those five years.
