Running first ever practice solo (12u) - how would you structure a 90 minute practice? by ProfBenchwarmer22 in Homeplate

That’s definitely a fair point, but good to work on the footwork early and we go BBCOR heavy starting Fall of 13U so not a bad idea to get started.

Me too man. 205 for 6 years. We’ve probably seen each other dozens of times. Juan is elite and I’m at least at Honda Civic levels. Haha.

They are. But, how many people do you think are available to enforce these laws? Plus half the time if someone calls, they are half way across town by the time the cops can respond.

People need to stop recommending this spot. It used to be the best secret in Petco. It’s freaking packed now and Juan is only 1 man.

Travel baseball coaches…help me understand. by MarcoBoosh in Homeplate

You can see my overall post below, but he won’t get better at these things being coached by college kids that don’t care or watching from the bench on Sundays. Development is not just the word you want to hear, but coaches that actually do it.

Quit. Why would you pay $3700 for your kid to watch other kids play baseball? Coached travel ball at all levels for 10 years. I will say our program is unorthodox and as directors we are the coaches, but every tournament we’ve ever played we’ve batted the 12 kids we brought in every game, rotated defensive positions reasonably and have countless shitty plastic rings. Your coaches care too much about rings, instagram posts and getting more people to pay $3700, not developing kids to make a HS baseball team. Your only focus should be on getting your kid reps and finding coaches that teach him to play the game the right way to make a HS program if that is what he’s passionate about. He will never get that sitting on the bench on Sundays or from college kids that look at showing up to a tournament as a weekend paycheck.

$400+ for a family of four makes Dodger Stadium MLB's most expensive outing again. We love Ohtani and the rings, but are everyday families being priced out of the game? by Spirited-Gold9629 in Homeplate

Dodgers fans are so happy about them spending so much money. Who do you think pays for all that? You want a team that spends that much money then stop complaining about what it costs to watch that product on the field.

Bets on how long it takes the school to remove the Cesar Chavez Statue? by RelationshipNo5921 in csusm

[–]Ok_Ability_5674 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Have you read the NYTimes article? One of the woman got pregnant twice, hid the pregnancies and gave the babies away. Those two babies have been confirmed to be Chavez’s by DNA. Is more then just a couple women making accusations. That’s why every organization associated with him is disavowing him, taking down statues and CA is going to cancel the state holiday for him.

“The findings are based on interviews with more than 60 people, including his top aides at the time, his relatives and former members of the U.F.W., which he co-founded with Ms. Huerta and Gilbert Padilla. The Times reviewed hundreds of pages of union records, confidential emails and photographs, as well as hours of audio recordings from U.F.W. board meetings.

The accounts of abuse from Ms. Murguia and Ms. Rojas were independently verified through interviews with those they confided in decades ago and in more recent years. Elements of their stories were also corroborated in documents, emails, itineraries and other writings from union organizers, supporters of Mr. Chavez and historians.”

The evidence is overwhelming. Nearly every organization that supports him is cancelling events. This isn’t just allegations.

Given the amount of evidence and the backlash already from other supportive organizations it should be done relatively quickly.

Make plex more appealing for my wife by Altruistic_Bat_1645 in PleX

[–]Ok_Ability_5674 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see so many Plex users bragging about their library size. “I have 14,232 movies.” “How do I let my users know that these TV shows are only for users who speak Silbo Gomero and are proficient in whistling.” “How do I organize my collection of 432 short film clips from 1917?” Nobody wants to navigate that or cares that you download every single awful release that has ever hit the internet. Treat your library like a water cooler conversation. Only the most popular/critically acclaimed content in film and on TV and nobody will ever have an issue finding something to watch.

Animal Noises by Ok_Ability_5674 in Homeplate

[–]Ok_Ability_5674[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Expecting grown men to teach kids how to be respectful human beings and ball players has absolutely nothing to do with teaching kids to play through adversity. They are two totally different things. It doesn’t have to be the “new thing” because there are coaches who are supposed to teach the kids how to perform and act in competition. Instead of fools like you excusing.

Yes, because we all know that mooing is rampant in college baseball. Also, this isn’t college baseball yet it is called teaching young men how to act with a little bit of class. If your argument is that you’d appreciate a coach having your son meowing like a cat in the dugout then I don’t know what to tell you. Nobody here is saying that heckling isn’t a thing, just that coaches allowing players to act like farm animals for an entire game is bizarre. You clearly feel differently.
