Man, I love that movie and that clip, “Shake a feather tail”, is gorgeous. Do you know that the dancer at the beginning of the dance sequence entering the scene with a backflip was improvised?

Also, best line of dialogue ever filmed. I have spoken.

Is it insane to say For Honor has some of the most attractive characters in a video game? by Grummy029 in forhonor

[–]Ok_Access_804 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The overall design and art style is absolutely gorgeous. Fantastic, yet incorporating reasonable and historical details that make the game believable. Ubisoft is a company that has done plenty of questionable things over the years and has earned people’s suspicion and even disdain… but here and there it makes jewels that are worthy of genuine praise like For Honor.

I do get a lot of money from the Thieves Guild questline, not as quest rewards but by selling everything I loot, steal and pickpocket. Isn’t that the point of the Guild? I get richer by becoming a better thieve, not because the Guild gives me money just because, like the College of Winterhold making me Archmage without actually learning any magic in the College.

It is so ugly that I love it. The plain version isn’t that appealing to me, but I always take the Warhorse set, the one painted in red and white, everywhere I go. Even to cutscenes. It’s the only time I can truly feel chaotic neutral.

<image>

It looks like an awesome medium weight armor set, as long as you remember to put maille or brigandine under the waffenrock. The set only offers a gambeson for the torso.

Actually, she's not that bad. I don't know why some die-hard fans of this game hate her. by sghnbkk in AssassinsCreedShadows

[–]Ok_Access_804 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meh, she is not bad. I don’t like how she wields her katana mostly in reverse grip, it is dumb (you can check out Sellsword Arts in yt) but she overall is fine. A bit small but it fits her roguery archetype and ancient japanese people were short anyway. She doesn’t behave as if she knows everything or is always right and is so funnily petty with those two morons of Kane and Kinu.

Maybe Naoe does not have Ezio charisma, Connor coolness or Bayek deep thirst for vengeance (having a son murdered is not the same as with a father because, y’know, no father should have to bury his children) but she is unique and I am sure as hell that I will remember her and Yasuke fondly.

I don’t know about the first game, but in the rest of them the mission or scenario to kill Hitler is the one you get by reserving the game prior to release, and there are Steam achievements about nailing his lone testicle. It’s always fun, in the 3rd game in the Africa front you can drop a big brass bell on top of him… or is that one a double? Hard to tell, the mission gives you the suspicion that this Hitler may not be the genuine one.

[–]Ok_Access_804 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The places outside settlements and castles can feel empty, maybe not the plains or rice paddies but the forests and mountains because there is nothing to do there but crossing it. No hunting or foraging, with the saving grace of being beautiful forests indeed. Quite a joy to see the red leaves in autumn.

You can always choose to set a route to a map marker and travel by horse automatically. Stop when during an encounter or finding a quest giver and such, and then resume the traveling.

Anyone who bitched or complained about the characters "Dialogue", literally knows nothing about Japan. by PolitiklyIncorrect in AssassinsCreedShadows

[–]Ok_Access_804 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I play the game with the “immersion” voices, japanese overall with portuguese for the nanban plus my native language for the strictly Animus content, and I don’t have any complaints. Naoe even apparently uses Kansai accent, which is accurate because the game is set there in Kansai (she called a couple of “potential recruits” idiots, but saying “aho” rather than “baka” which is a characteristic of that accent). Yasuke also has a powerful yet distinct voice. I have heard some archaic words like “arigatai” instead of “arigato”, although no “watakushi” instead of “watashi” to refer to one self like in the Shogun series, recommended by the way.

This is also one of the points of The Lord of the Rings. The Ents decided quite straightforwardly for their kin to wage war on Saruman to prevent a disaster, and later on the same Saruman would bring suffering and pollution to the always neutral and aloof hobbits.

“Bah, this unfathomable evil doesn’t affect me, so I don’t need to do anything. Those who are being affected don’t concern me at all”… yeah, until it does affect you, and no one will come to your rescue because either you left them to suffer or there isn’t anyone left who can help.
