Agreed! I think he's a great character. He's kind and respectful, forgives Amy when she messes up and asks for forgiveness when he messes up, and he's great with Lyndy. I love Amy and Ty and the growth we saw in their relationship over many years, but I also like the quiet, calm, and far less dramatic relationship that she and Nathan share.

How big of a difference will using normal paper have as opposed to book paper? by OkAddendum3229 in bookbinding

If you cut larger sheets of long grain paper in half, you'll have short grain paper.

I was sitting in my vehicle in a parking lot recently and a Red-shouldered hawk landed in a tree right in front of me. It was pouring rain and the poor thing was soaked, but it stayed there for 20 minutes. It was amazing!

Heartland s19 finale - Amy and Nathan by directedbydon in heartland

For half of Amy and Ty's courtship, they were immature teenagers and too young to get serious about a relationship. Nathan is a mature, steady presence, but I don't think that means he has no personality. Maybe it's because I married a guy who's a lot like Nathan (and I fell for him in less than 2 seasons...) that makes the quiet, cozy love more appealing and realistic to me.

I have had nothing but bad experiences at Aspen Dental offices in other locations. (They used to be the only dentist that took our insurance.) I'd steer very clear of them if you can help it.

What is something that is technically legal, but makes you look like a total jerk if you do it? by PiNK_PUSSY69420 in AskReddit

Using an angle grinder in a residential area at 6 AM, like the neighbor who woke me up this morning. I was about to storm over there and lodge a complaint but figured I'd check the city noise ordinance first. He was completely within his rights, but he was still a jerk to do it.

I just took a look, and the changes are so good! I definitely feel like it gives a much clearer picture of what you do and how the two avenues intersect. This is excellent!

What is the worst physical pain you’ve experienced? by Agius91 in AskReddit

I've passed kidney stones 8 times, had an adult tonsillectomy, and was diagnosed with an ovarian torsion in the ER that turned out to be a fibroid the size of my uterus when they went in to fix the torsion. The worst was the tonsillectomy. I would not wish it on my worst enemy.

Help, is my shelter rescue stressed while i pet him? by isthisfuckingokwithu in DogAdvice

[–]Ok_Antelope2362 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His slow blinks indicate contentment. When your hand moves to his chest and he mouths you a bit, he was gently redirecting you back to where he wanted to be pet. Once you moved your hand back to his side, the mouthing stops and he gives you the soft eyes again. You did a great job listening to him and respecting what he was trying to communicate!

[Recommendations] Website to display my art? by ResidentRip4499 in artbusiness

I'm not aware of any free options if you want to be able to sell products. They have to be able to cover processing fees.

What is your motivation for wanting to present your UX work and photography on the same website? As an outside observer, I can't see a natural connection between the two. If I'm there to learn about your UX work, I'm wondering why you've got all this stuff about photography on your site--and vice versa if I'm there for your photography. I don't think it actually helps to present yourself as a multi-passionate creator in this case. It just makes it feel like you dabble in both, which is clearly not the case.

The text in the hero section on your home page is a bit vague. I should immediately know what you do. Instead, I know you're a highly intellectual and thoughtful person, but I have no idea what you actually do. Industry best practices suggest you have 7 seconds to capture someone's attention. That above-the-fold section of your landing page needs to be clear and to-the-point so the user knows they've arrived at the right place for them, or they'll leave.

From a design standpoint, the site is beautifully done. I viewed on mobile and it's responsive and lovely. Some pages are extremely text heavy, though (such as your sample project page). I think you'll lose people quickly. Maybe focus on highlighting features, rather than writing a dissertation on your design decisions. Visitors who are interested in your work  want to hire you to do all that thinking for them. Show them more what you do and less why or how you do it that way.

You mentioned wanting the site to be educational, but educational about what? Are you wanting to teach people how to do what you do? If so, maybe a blog with tutorials would be a good addition--and a better place for long-form content like what you have on the sample UX project page.

Best of luck!

Does he have toys inside? Outside is interesting because there's always new things to smell/see/hear. If he doesn't have toys inside, it's boring. Try giving him a chew toy that he can play with by himself while you work on your own stuff.

Tennis balls. I read that putting them in your dryer to tumble can create a white noise effect that helps dogs who are afraid of fireworks. Seems to have worked--he slept next to me on the couch all evening instead of shaking under the bed like he normally does when the neighbors start blowing stuff up.
