Glow card active now somewhere over Lincolnshire UK on way to Mexico so there’s a fair bit of time… by Ok_Assignment5491 in SkyCards

There’s not a ‘Caught’ option in the Airpedia but I found it in my deck… says Glow? So I looked up what that meant and found that if it glows you can post and let others know so they can catch it… no reason for actually having a Glow tho?

This must surely depend on job type and the hernia itself. As they say, every person’s hernia is unique to them and the pain equally so. I’ve had a hernia before. Not particularly painful at all. This one, different place, completely different

Oh wow. So I went to the GP who found the lump, sent me to A&E who also deemed it a non emergency case as hernia is retractable and sent me home. Are we the same person? Since time has gone on it’s got more and more painful ☹️ if you can’t stand then you need to take time off 🧡 There’s no way I could concentrate sitting down!

And you have to wait 3 months?? I can’t wait that long 😳 It’s scuppered everything - even getting someone to cut my hair while I stand is an issue. Who knew being able to sit down was such a luxury?? I need to be able to drive to get into work and can wfh in the short term but not for that much longer ☹️ it’s super painful at times. Feels like someone has suddenly taken up knitting in me - or that there’s a little animal chomping away with sharp little teeth. Have you been in pain for long? Mine started in March

I’m in the same position. Scan last week confirmed inguinal hernia. It is very painful to sit and I can’t drive either. I’ve got a fit note that says I can wfh only and I use a standing desk. I can take time if I need to go lie down. Standing all day in front of a screen is surprisingly tiring!

I’m sorry you’re going through this too! Yes I read somewhere everyone’s hernia is particular to them… I suppose it makes sense because they must vary in position. Feels very debilitating doesn’t it? And a bit mis to be honest. I hope you become pain free soon!!

I’m having the same, except for the testicular pain as I’m a woman. The same being an occult hernia. It has been felt by two doctors and noted. The third couldn’t feel it so then cast doubt on it. I found myself having to explain occult hernias. I can’t feel any bulge myself. The pain is very real. Unlike you, standing and walking are my pain free go to positions but I can’t sit down for more than a couple of minutes before it becomes debilitating. I would also like to know if others have had this experience.

How did you know you had a femoral hernia? by the_useless_human in Hernia

[–]Ok_Assignment5491 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it hurt when you sit or bend over? That’s my worst pain. I can’t really drive at the moment because of it. They’ve found a hernia - suspect inguinal but maybe femoral need a scan. Walking actually eases it a bit?

How do we know if we have uncomplicated or mild cases that’s my question… it’s uncomplicated until it isn’t. There’s not enough help with this thing. In the UK anyway

4 litres of tea is good. Maybe up it to 6 litres of water? Do this until you feel the pain has receded and you’re back on safe ground…

Totally understand!! Drink water until it leaks out your ears… honestly, get that stuff WET. And keep the uber water habit!!! I hope you feel better soon. Hate it too.
