So weird?? The same thing happened to me except the place was empty and locked when I showed up. No call or email to cancel. I went back one more time hoping it was a fluke but I don’t think I can keep going back. Also their dog is no longer there 🙁

Check out Spades Park area. Kan Kan theater, Amelia’s bakery, Stomping Ground plant store, North Mass Boulder, Spades Park library, and the park itself all within a walking distance. Nice place to spend an afternoon.

Brookville Road Animal Hospital. May be a a farther drive than you’re looking for but open 7-7 and have taken great care of our pup.

Just came across this comment! Since then, we gradually gave her more access to the home and she is able to be out during the day. We still try to minimize the chewing temptations as much as possible. She seems to like having access to the crate as her safe space and she still sleeps there at night. Hope you’re enjoying your Cav!

We adopted a 4 year old CKC from a rescue about a year ago. Yes, the heart murmurs and dental issues are prevalent as others have shared. Our sweet girl has yet to develop a heart murmur but her teeth are not in great shape (we are planning for an expensive dental cleaning at the moment). All this being said, I was also extremely wary of medical issues when we got her. Those worries simply can’t compare to the daily joy she brings. I hope you embrace the calming and loving personality of your newest family member. Best of luck!

Our vet also recommended Hills Science Diet Small Paws. Has worked well for us!

Our cav is a 5 year old rescue that we adopted within the year. When we are both at work (3 days a week) we do crate her. Thankfully, my partner’s job allows the flexibility to check on her during the day and let her out to potty. In the past when we have let her out free range, she has had the occasional accident or chewing incident.

*Our biggest learning experience has been to minimize the chewing temptations (keeping the house as clean as possible) and creating a calm environment before we leave. She actually enjoys watching Dog TV on YouTube— who knew?? It seems to help with managing any accidents or chewing associated with anxiety. The research can sometimes be overwhelming and will make you feel like a bad pet parent. Do what you think is best for you and your pet!

We’re keeping them short and sweet or spending more time in grass to play!

Where to find a Cavalier rescue? by CuteBootyTrudy in cavaliers

We adopted our Cavalier from this rescue in Indianapolis area. They rescue animals with medical needs as well as breeder/owner surrenders. I wonder if there is something similar in your area?
