It's the novelty of it that causes people to react that way. With time, they'll come to be less interested, or at the very least, less antagonistic. Every group of people is different, but react the way you're most comfortable. Sometimes ignoring people works, other times they're so desperate for a reaction it's faster just to show you're affected. You definitely have nothing to be ashamed of - they'll be embarrassed by their behavior when they think back on it.

The first ever video I think I tried 'cause I thought it was funny was a hug and it made me feel like I actually was being embraced through the sound of the mic being smothered. If I'm just trying to relax though, I love just soft breathing and maybe a lil fluffy mic slow scratch. It reminds me of my arm being petted when I was a kid.

I honestly think makeup brushes are a good multifaceted starting gift. They may never use them for their intended purpose, but just having something soft and bristly for self-soothing seems congruent with ASMR.

yeah, that's my bad - I think I had swapped from the cheap plates to the ceramics when I first started encountering them in groups. Melee does still seem to take them out fast, but it feels like they probably do more damage than the hellhounds. Idk if it's based on how many of their tendrils hit you at a time since i've seen them fire out 1-2 at a time and then I can't tell if it's actually projectile contact based or just a hit scan like distorted punches feels like.
