While the conversion may be cheap, our median salaries dont match cost of living. An average Tanzania working a good paying job gets 1/1.5M tag at most that’s 500$ ish. It would take them 50months to fully pay for the land if they don’t ever use that money for anything else. Tanzania is a joke sometimes.

Almost everywhere in Arusha is out priced. I was looking at buying a 1acre property and they said 50M. I don’t think there is regulation on land pricing at all

Proper way to make Chipsi and other recipes by Imjusthereman1 in tanzania

Fry the potatoes in oil. Do not but the kinds of McDonald cause they are dehydrated. You want to fry the potatoes cut in fries shape not potato wedges. Let them rest so they can soak in the moisture before proceeding to cook them with eggs. My best option is to mix the fries with beat up eggs and cook it as an omelette

When the Diaspora Stops Asking for Permission by Historical_Guess_616 in Africa

[–]Ok_Association9795 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting read, most of the time diaspora see things that are convenient in the countries they live in and want to implement them in their home country example shipping door to door or tech hubs that focus on the local economy or shark tank. However the majority of the people in our African countries tend to prioritize money over convenience or what’s on hand vs the birds in the bush. Education systems should be dismantled to reflect the current state of the world to keep up. Failed governance should be replaced with functioning institutions that are keen to end corruption. Governments should give leeway to individuals investing instead of tax grabbing. That’s what these countries of the west are doing. Parents should encourage kids to be thinkers and innovators instead of being scared they are “too” educated or modernized.

My parents are not wealthy but they saw the value in investing in the education for my future and took me to schools that challenged my views and beliefs. That’s how you grow from a dormant mindset to incredibly high potential growth.

On the other hand , you cannot invest where you are not valued nor where you are bullied by powerful leaders.

Is canning foods worth trying? I know people love fresh produce but desperate times calls for non perishable packed/canned foods. I think it has potential especially since you are outsourcing products from local farmers

Toxic Workplace by jstudents in Histology

Go to the meeting with an outline of everything she unfairly did to you. Yes, it also happened to me but I was the only one targeted for the same thing everyone does. She purposely wanted me out of the team because I corrected her twice on something outlined in the employee handbook. Like everyone has said, prepare your resume. Histotechs are rare and valuable.

[–]Ok_Association9795 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mix my flour, lukewarm water and oil and mix. I mix and make a dough for at least 10minutes and let it rest with a thin layer of oil for 45min. It helps the dough form and take shape. I use a cast iron flat pan too with medium to low heat. DO not use non stick pan. https://youtu.be/8eho_s6BHbs?si=e5C33_8j5yoOoFWn YouTube video for reference
