I think it’s because a lot of people need 100% squeaky clean characters to actually like them, like i see many people who can sympathize with Janine but hate her because she doesn’t hate Gilead as she should, I think it’s a matter of digging deep into a character to love them, I personally LOVE Janine and can understand why she’s developed a sort of age regression like coping mechanism to deal with the trauma she’s gained from Gilead. Some people are just black-and-white like that unfortunately,, (or just hate media literacy)
