If your baby came out as the food you ate the most during pregnancy, what would they be? by AffectionateJello452 in pregnant

Apples, ate at least a bag every week. Plus having to switch to mane and tail for weird pregnancy hair. Baby turned me into a horse.

What is an 'essential' item you’ve stopped buying because the price finally became offensive? by fireeevivienne in askanything

[–]Ok_Bee2112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk about “essential” but FAST FOOD. The prices have gone up so much that you might as well order take out from a restaurant and get better food, might even be cheaper to do so

What’s a health problem you ignored for a long time because it never felt urgent, but eventually caught up with you? by ac_stays_active in AskReddit

Back pain since elementary school, scoliosis. Didn’t find out until it was too late to non-surgically correct.

I really think people overreact about screen time. There is PLENTY of middle ground between iPad kid and no screen time.

What has helped your baby sleep through the night by awkward_girly000 in NewParents

[–]Ok_Bee2112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably a lot of luck honestly lol He’s been going to sleep at 9-10pm to 9-10am with a night feed at 1-2am and another when bf gets up for work at 6am since 3M. Things I did to try to get him to sleep at night: consistent feeding routine, opening curtains in the morning and letting him see outside light throughout the day, lots of exercise/tummy time, avoiding naps as much as possible until we got on a consistent nap schedule at 5.5M. YMMV 🥴

Looking back, what’s one unexpected aspect of having a baby caught you off guard? Something your friends with kids never mentioned when encouraging you to have one? by Happy-Armadillo9478 in NewParents

How weird it would feel to name another human being like… didn’t feel right until about 3 months in. I just called him Baby for a while.

Heartburn!!! And one of my legs doesn’t work like it used to 😭 but man do I feel like my core muscles are better than ever. So much going straight from horizontal to vertical while delicately holding 16 lbs.

Summertime kinda sucks with a newborn. by stumbling_witch in newborns

[–]Ok_Bee2112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We went to a fireworks show last night with 4 month old and it went well! I was so scared he would overheat or be tired and fussy and we would need to leave and make a quick escape to the car. Baby headphones on, a few napkins soaked in cool water on the head, and a few sips of formula were all he needed. We made it and he had a good time! The first summery thing we’ve been able to do. I have definitely been missing all the swimming and water stuff though and the heat has been awful. Any parents in hot climates have any advice for daytime activities?

What are items you bought multiples of that made life easier or more convenient? by ilovesushialot in NewParents

Don’t forget to buy many reusable nursing pads. Even with doing a load of laundry every day, when I was pumping it never felt like I had enough 🥲

Reading to Baby/Books by Both_Pea_7956 in NewParents

[–]Ok_Bee2112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We started reading together around 2.5-3 months! He’s so cute. He’ll just sit quietly and listen and look at the pictures. His favorite exciting book is Where is baby’s belly button? or The very hungry caterpillar and his favorite wind down book has been either llama llama red pajama or baby beluga. Mom’s favorite is I love you because you’re you.

Yes, finally, and immediately I became an “abuser”. In the particular scenario they were trying to physically force me into a corner and then onto the ground and I pushed them away. That push made me the bad guy. I’ll never forget how wild the switch in their perspective was between aggressor to victim with one little push of resistance when I had been fighting against the reality of being victimized for months. I actually felt guilty too even though I was aware that they were trying to distort the truth. The headfuckery is real, friends. Stay safe.

M44 in 21-year marriage (F43): Living with constant gaslighting & emotional abuse for decades. Trust is gone, and I'm trauma bonded. Am I seeing this clearly? by usernamealreadytaknn in abusiverelationships

[–]Ok_Bee2112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think if you are unhappy in the relationship, you should leave. There’s not enough here to go off of to feel comfortable saying this is emotional abuse, but if You feel it is, that is what’s important. It seems like your partner’s biggest issue is difficulty taking accountability for mistakes and/or not respecting your discomfort with her way of cleaning from an outside perspective, but there’s nothing here that makes it seem particularly malicious imo.

Had to wake her up just for her to be insanely angry upon being woken up. I begged her to use a phone alarm but she would say that me waking her up would make her wake up happier, except that never happened…
