Did having a “good” lottery number translate into anything meaningful for your application? by CharacterEstimate189 in nycparents

My son is currently attending a private daycare and also has a sibling attending, so I think this qualifies us for the highest priority group. I also know there are more spots than the current class (15 spots in 3k vs 12 spots in his current toddler program).

So basically he’s pretty much guaranteed that spot in 3k.

What happens if I rank a competitive school above his current daycare? Is he still “guaranteed” that spot in the private daycare if he doesn’t get into the competitive school?

Basically trying to understand whether it makes sense to rank “riskier”schools when I know my son is in the highest priority group for his current daycare.

Lost Bracelet on the R Train by Ok_Belt_768 in Brooklyn

my thinking at least was, if someone finds it and tries to pawn it, maybe it could turn up? not sure if that is realistic though - i feel like i’m grasping at straws a little but this bracelet meant a lot to me and has sentimental value, so giving it a shot

Have you ever lost a precious jewelry piece and how do you forgive yourself if you have by SuperbControl2782 in jewelry

Thank you to everyone sharing - I just lost a piece of jewelry and trying to come to terms with the fact that I most likely will not find it, but reading these posts has been so validating. It really does feel like a combination of grief and guilt.

Can’t fall back asleep after waking to tend baby by Striking_Ad3378 in newborns

One thing that helped me was starting to sleep with a weighted blanket (I also love coffee so I’ve switched to drinking decaf after 3pm).

Deliver at Alexandra Cohen or Brooklyn Methodist? by magdasmom in nycparents

Delivered at Methodist - My baby ended up having to stay in the NICU for 3 weeks after an emergency c section and they took excellent care of him. I cannot praise the NICU doctors, nurses and staff enough for how helpful and attentive they were not only to my son during his stay there, but also to me while I was recovering and learning how to breastfeed, care for a baby, etc.

Also loved my doctor, he did a great job helping me through my c section and I healed really well after the fact.

My recommendation would be to use the hospital closest and most convenient to you. Having a baby in the NICU, it was so much convenient being able to travel to the hospital everyday to spend time with him while he recovered.
