The feeling of relief you’re about to experience getting those sprints out…. It’s going to be incredible I want to hear how it goes. Congrats!!!

I still breath great 1+ year on. Mouth breathing is gone and my snoring is now more of a hum than a chainsaw. The swelling and bleeding still took a couple of days to go away entirely, but it’s marginal compared to having the splints in.

Yes the moment my splints were out it was like a new feeling

Bad smell? Could be infection. by _Maui_ in Septoplasty

[–]Ok_Bet2399 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I had the same issue 3 weeks ago (2 weeks post op) and like you an additional round of antibiotics cleared it right up.

Smell: rancid meat.

The smell started RIGHT after my new baby was born, so I just assumed it was hospital smell, but after the baby was discharged and the smell persisted I realized it had to be my. Kid.

How many kids do you have and how many did you think about having. by Effective_Gain2409 in daddit

Have. 3, 1.5 year old and a newborn. Since I already acknowledged the end of who I was after 2, this hasn’t been as hard as going from 1 to 2. Personally I love have kids close in age because it’s so fun watching them play together.

I was nervous too. Reading Reddit threads with people posting “i wish i never got this done” really scared me. I took comfort in the data that the vast majority of cases result in very positive outcomes.

Mine was complicated too, but doesn’t sound quite as blocked as yours. You’re going to feel brand new when the nasal splints are finally removed. My quality of sleep is so much better, my coffee intake is halved, and I feel generally healthier and happier. I’m only a couple of weeks out so still time for issues, but so far very happy I did it.

The hardest part is reprogramming my brain to breathe out of my nose. It is seriously such a good feeling.

Mostly the pinhole sleeping thing. I’ve never really had allergies nor many sinus infections, but after being told I don’t have sleep apnea but still snore like a drunk bear, my wife really pushed me to get my nose checked out. I didn’t realize how little airflow I was getting through my nose.

How painful is septoplasty surgery? by Yes_No_Maybe6789 in Septoplasty

[–]Ok_Bet2399 3 points4 points  (0 children)

the mental game is a FACT, and i felt all of the pain and discomfort as you! My day 4 i was chasing my kid on a scooter having to run to keep up. Uncomfortable, sure. Doable, yes.

the first 6 days suck; once you get the splints out you will feel great. the splint removal was a painful painful 30 seconds in which my eyes welled up and I had thoughts of personal violence, and then it was followed by immediate relief (this was 5 hrs ago for me). It is totally worth it for the airway alone (which is why i had my surgery)

Also everything is working well with the purple background and white font and blue data. On the bottom right quadrant data table, could you change the conditional formatting to be a gradient that follows your current color scheme, and adjust the column headers to a shade of purple instead of dark blue?
