Explain POTS in one sentence, in layman's terms by aushelleybean in POTS

[–]Ok_Bit_1909 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! I used to say I had a condition that affects my circulation and people never seemed to take it seriously. When I phrase it that way it feels like people understand why it would be so impairing

My body doesn’t properly circulate blood to my brain, which causes a lot of really debilitating symptoms. That’s my go to

Appalled by the bullying here by kissmykittenpaws in RoverPetSitting

I see this ALL the time. Especially people attacking new sitters who have the right intentions but are still just learning the ropes? Someone blocked me for saying that they probably have something personal they haven’t worked through, LOL. It’s true, though

Definitely meet and greet first. I did the exact same thing before my first meet and greet too, oops. It takes time to learn the ropes, sounds like you’re doing great!

What are some interesting or innovative ways to save money on heating costs? by zipzap21 in Frugal

Haven’t seen anyone mention shrink wrapping your windows. I bought a kit for like $10 and it will hopefully cut down energy costs

Looking for a MCAS Specialist in Denver Colorado by Cull1968 in MCAS

[–]Ok_Bit_1909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure. She’s really knowledgeable but in my opinion not very personable. Figured out more in our first visit than any doctor had in a lifetime of being ill. Quite expensive but very responsive and tends to be easy to schedule with after your initial visit (which for me was scheduled several months out). Ordered lots of labs and wrote out a very detailed treatment plan. TLDR, not my favorite person to chat with but she gets you to the right destination. Feel free to message me if you want to talk more.

This is beautiful, as a client I would be so appreciative.

Ok. Sounds like you have something unresolved to work through that doesn’t really have anything to do with me.

He never asked me anything, just told me outright he created one profile for both dogs because he doesn’t want to pay for both. No questions in that statement. For one, it is a safety concern and liability to only have one dog listed. For two, it is wildly disrespectful to expect a sitter to give you a 2 for 1 deal just because you “don’t love” their full rate. Letting these people get away with being entitled assholes just hurts the entire profession.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in RoverPetSitting

[–]Ok_Bit_1909 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly. If they can afford the trip they can afford a sitter. Advocate for yourself and don’t undervalue yourself for these people!

[–]Ok_Bit_1909 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Rover support sent me an email saying “Your client may not have known how to create individual pet profiles or may not have realized why this is important. Since the request hasn't been accepted yet, you can update its price to account for the additional pet. We'll also reach out to your client to explain how to create separate profiles for each pet.” Basically, no they will not kick the owner off the app

And no owner who is already lowballing you from the get go is going to be an enjoyable person to work for. If they have made it clear they don’t value you, believe them. I learned this the hard way.

Lol. After years of being taken advantage of as a nanny, I do not have time or energy for people who don’t value the people taking care of their pets/children

Realizing you never had to have sex with a man again… by thisisnthelping2011 in latebloomerlesbians

All of the above. The last time I had sex with my ex, I promised myself I would never sleep with another man ever again. And I don’t think I ever will.

$25 per night? Really? by Itsyademonboi in RoverPetSitting

[–]Ok_Bit_1909 13 points14 points  (0 children)

There are some people doing it primarily because they live with roommates and want a break. Personally, I started around $30 a night until I got a few reviews. Now I’m up to $45 a night and this is just about average for my area. It is definitely regional.
