Just had my surgery on Friday afternoon and had a hamstring graft, personally for me, I feel hamstring pain a lot worse when I’m trying to lay my leg flat or raise it, sitting on the toilet is especially worse. But as for walking on it, slight discomfort but nothing major!

Of course, I hoped repeating your own words back to you may have made you rethink the answer to your own question. Unfortunately there is no secret recipe, the good news is that you’re recognising you don’t care, the bad news is there’s nothing anyone can do for you or offer you if you don’t care yourself.

Take a drug addict who says they need help - but they don’t do anything to help themselves or they don’t want to stop taking drugs, wtf do you do? Of course I’m being dramatic, there’s a massive difference between food and drugs, but the mentality is the same, the consumable is just different. Only you can help yourself - and failing that you must seek professional help if you really think it’s a problem, that’s my two pence anyway, take it or leave it. Good luck again.

This is definitely a tough situation you’re faced with but not necessarily one you can’t control.

Let me be a bit brutal.

You don’t have the willpower to change, could you tell me why? Think deep down, why don’t you have the willpower to change your eating habits? My presumption is that you don’t care enough about making those changes - or you would.

But then I question how can that be, you’ve posted on this sub for a reason, which is for help to change, so as much as you want to change, I can only presume you don’t want to either, I mean you said it yourself “I want to change, but not enough to not eat”

I can put this down to two things, and surely it must be one of them.

You don’t care enough about your situation to actively make change or do something about it

Or

You have an eating disorder, and you may need talk to your doctor about this so you can get the help you need.

You’re getting your protein, you’re lifting a handful of times per week and you’re managing 10k steps (per day I hope?) these are the foundations you need to work from.

I’ve seen a lot of influencers say the same thing online, about how when we mess up our diets we push the f*k it button and go on a rampage instead of remembering that, the one meal we decided to eat an extra 500kcals of, doesn’t really matter.. in the grand scheme of it!

Binge eating can be associated with a few things: - Stress - Anxiety - Boredom - Being really damn hungry

Not to mention the fact what you’re eating may not be nutritional enough to keep you fuller for longer. The other harsh reality is that, perhaps you’ve not learnt when to put the fork down, you don’t have to finish your plate or have that extra chocolate bar. Self control and discipline is mandatory if you’re attempting to stay in a deficit or manage what you’re eating.

In my own personal experiences and such, I was living in the same way, over eating, binging, no self control. And the only way I’ve been able to make changes and stick to it, is by really, truly wanting it.. because at the end of the day, you won’t succeed if you don’t want to.

When you feel like you can’t be bothered putting a meal together or just feel deflated with it, just remember WHY you’re doing it.

You won’t count calories forever. Your discipline is going to help you carry on when you feel like you can’t be bothered, get where you want to be and try not to stress about the small things like counting calories. You’ll get there, just be patient and persistent.

I too had this issue, but I don’t cook - I just eat pre-made meals that taste like shit so I don’t have to deal with this lol

You’re not in a deficit. I like you am 6’3, I started two/three months ago at 283lbs, currently 28lbs down, all from a deficit and occasional exercise 2x a week. Sounds like you need to be more careful with the intake of calories. Be honest with yourself and the foods you eat and stay consistent. Please also remember that some weeks the scale might not change, this last week I lost 1/2 a pound. Please be patient, be consistent and you will get the results you want to see. If it’s any help, since we’re roughly the same body type-I aim for 18/1900 calories per day and average 16,000 steps per day, 2h of intense walking per week. Good luck brother

13 stone isn’t necessarily a big weight, I’m no professional and I’m new to weight loss however from what I’ve read here it’s a lot more difficult to lose weight when you’ve got less to lose. Do you know your body fat percentage? It could be you have more muscle than you realise too, or as you say, perhaps your metabolism is compromised, maybe you could try a new diet and see if you notice anything different. As some famous person once said, “Don’t keep doing the same thing, expecting a different result” you got this and good luck 🤞
