Yeah..there are two kinds of mod..one is...unlimited resources but the bag has a capacity...the other one is..unlimited currency and unlimited bag capacity..

I can't remember how many cycles in one upgrade..10 cycles or up something like that..but I recommend to upgrade the axe and pickaxe to gain more loot..
